Customer Reviews

As usual, Pilot knocks it out of the park again when it comes to affordable fountain pens. The matte plastic body is easy to grip, and I'm not worried about it handling abuse. It's a Pilot, so it writes as smoothly as every other Pilot I have. Great pen for the money.

I purchased an extra-fine insert for my Decimo pen. Like many extra-fine nibs, it has a lot of feedback and it feels slightly scratchy. However, this nib writes smoothly, never falters, and delivers the extra-fine line

This is a SWEET fountain pen. The gold nib glides smoothly on the page and the ink always flows. The pen is on the slim side, which may not suit writers with larger hands. The champagne color gives it a classy, refined look. Highly recommend this gorgeous pen.

One of my favorite inks! It looks pink...then it looks purple...I can't decide which because this lovely magenta type ink has excellent shading and can be slightly different looking depending on the paper. Always need to keep a bottle of this on hand.

Gorgeous ink! So sad Kiri-Same was phased out, but the entire line of inks perform well in all my pens. Grab the samples to find your favorite colors.

My husband and I are huge fans of Pilot Metropolitan pens. One of my smoothest, most perfect pens is a Pilot Metropolitan. I bought this particular one because it has a sleek, dark vibe at what amounts to a budget price.

Iroshizuku inks are an obsession of mine. I love the colors, performance, and even the lovely Japanese names (once I look up the translation). Even though I have so many colors already that I'll likely not live long enough to use them all up, I'll always be in the market to add more to my stash. Great inks! And great, dependable service from Pen Chalet. Thank you!

The balance of the pen in hand is great, the included converter makes it easy to use your favorite inks, and it also uses Pilot cartridges, same as my Pilot Kakuno pens. Fit and finish make the pen satisfying to use.

Fun pens that automatically set in your hand in the correct orientation for writing. A very good writer, and the available converter lets you try other inks. The transparent bodies make it easy to see just how much ink you have left. Easy to care for too.

I had to replace my pen nib after I allowed someone to use it and he bent it. This fine point nib is great, and I am happy to have been able to replace the damaged one. NO ONE but me will get to use it again!

This is a lovely edition for your Pilot fountain pen collection. The soft fine nib is great to write with. They don't offer pretty colors as often as I'd like, so when this became available, it was an instant pre-order.

Great pen for starters or for everyday carry! The Kakuno, is definitely best paired with the CON-70 converter. My favorite features are the clear pen body so I can see the ink level, it doesn't roll away when I set it down, the snap on/off cap is way more quick/efficient than some of my more fancy screw on fountain pen caps, and the nib is a pleasure to write with right out of the box (I got a medium, not too wet, not too dry when writing with Sailor Shikiori Yuki Usagi)! As they say, Pilot pens have great quality control on their nibs which would make this a great gift as well. I just hope the plastic will last a long while but I am slightly wary (thus 4 stars for quality and value).

Although a bit pricey, I love Iroshizuku inks! They make any pen feel/write better. One of my favorite colors so far is Yama-budo. It is dark and rich enough to be easily legible in fine nibs, yet it isn't a boring color. It shows a tiny little bit of shading when I put it in my Pilot Custom Heritage '92 pen (nib MF).

I bought Translucent Coral F which is hot pink and Translucent Green M which is highlighter yellow. The black CON-70 converter I bought to use between both adds a bold contrasting look.

Works fine and personally I think the CON-70 is very straightforward: you fill or flush with the button, just push it instead of fiddling inside the converter. No issues with trapped ink yet, it always gets pushed out from the filling action. The black version makes for a nice contrast with the transparent Family series Kakunos.
