The Penlux Masterpiece has become one of my all time favorite fountain pens. The nib is a fine, writes smooth and is delight to write with even in long sessions. I highly recommend this pen. I own three of these beauties and have the fourth on back-order, so clearly I love them. As I have arthritis (yet staunchly refuse to give up writing with fountain pens) these are notably large and light enough and well-balanced (unposted) to lend comfort to writing when I can't think of touching my thinner pens. They also hold an enormous amount of ink, filling less often is a blessing as it can be more painful than writing. My two favorites are the Koi, both blue/white and black/white combos. Once I got the black Koi and saw the luminous pearl-like glow of some and translucent quality of other spots, I had to have the blue as well. Higher price point for a steel nib pen, I feel worth the money for its quality, size, balance and beauty. If you like the larger Opus pens you'll love these, IMO a notch above in beauty of the materials, style, function and overall look. Though I don't as often purchase pens that don't have a 14k nib or a steel flex nib, these are a virtual delight for every thing else. If Penlux offered a steel flex nib option, I'd probably already have a dozen! Glad Pen Chalet offers the Penlux line.

An attractive, well finished, generously sized pen! Writes very well. I like the aluminum piston however the nib section being “epoxied in” has me concerned. I’ve gone out on a limb and ordered two more and pray that should there be a problem that Penlux’s service will be adequate. For the time being I really like the pen.

Got the Deep Sea in Fine. Looks much better than in pics. Just transparent enough to see outlines of the interior - as if peering into the dark ocean. The color is really distinctive. Writes smoothly every time. A bit over 2 turns to uncap. Posts securely but then it'll be too back heavy. Long enough not to need posting. Very easy to use clip (not stiff and with a small bearing at the end - sort of like the Leonardo Officina). I hope PenLux turns out more models.

OMG. So in love with the Yomogi ink. It is one of the most gorgeous shades of teal, with the customary luscious flow that most Sailor inks seem to have.
And then there’s the box it comes in, which is a work of art in and of itself, unfolding like a lotus blossom. It’s little touches like these that make Japanese stationery goods worth the cost.
Manyo Yomogi is one of the rare inks that I might need to get a second bottle of, just in case. I want plenty of it forever.

I have tried multiple purple inks and was unsatisfied until I found this in plum. It is deep and beautiful and behaves well in Japanese F and EF nibs. The only drawback is the price.
