It doesn't look like the usual Pelikan, and it's metal. By the usual Pelikan I mean one of the Souveran or Mxxx pens. That's not a bad thing. It is well-made, and it would definitely hold up as an everyday carry pen. My only complaint is that I can't find a converter that fits it. The Pelikan converter definitely doesn't fit.
