Customer Reviews

Gorgeous pen! I purchased this for a steal on a sale with a coupon. So happy I grabbed one before they sold out. Lovely writer. Don’t hesitate to grab one in a different design.

I like this pen a lot. I found it didn't always have the ink flow I liked with a cartridge so I set it up as an eyedropper and love it in that configuration. I use it for drawing and always use Noodler's Black ink.

This is a great pen, with the hugest nib I've ever seen. For the first month or so I though I'd gotten a lemon, because it leaked ink badly. Eventually I figured out how to tighten the nib and ink converter better and the leaking stopped. Pen Chalet's price was much better than what other vendors sell the Mag 1000 for.

I picked up the Magna Carta Land of the Free with the flexible gold nib not long ago and it’s been such a pleasant surprise. The design has a lot of personality without feeling over the top, and in the hand it feels solid and well made. The gold flex nib is really the highlight. It writes smoothly right out of the box and there’s just enough softness to give your writing some character without having to push too hard or worry about railroading. I’ve been using it for notes, journaling, and even signing documents, and it has handled everything really well. What I appreciate most is that it doesn’t just sit on the shelf. It’s a pen I actually want to reach for and write with. Comfortable balance, steady ink flow, no fuss. For anyone curious about a modern flex nib, this one hits a sweet spot between being expressive and still easy to use.

After trying the flex nibs thanks to a few friends with these, I knew I had to buy my own. They're like no other nib I've tried and they're a joy to use. I love this pen and am so glad I invested in one.

Purchased for its unique theme that is expressed subtly along the barrel. Pleasantly surprised to find it writes like a dream, beautifully smoothly.

My favorite pen is the Magna Carta mag 600. This version I feel is the nicest appearing pen I have in my collection. It's just beautiful with perfect color combination. I understand that this pen is meant for Halloween but it will remain inked all year long. I have 4 mag 600's and 1 mag 650 and this is by far my favorite.

Nice looking pen! Quite a wet flow with Diamine “Twilight” - I’m going to try “drier” inks to avoid show-through. Very expressive nib. I’m going to have fun playing with this one!

A really nice and highly unusual pen! The medium nib is fantastic - very smooth and the feed is great. I understood that ink could be absorbed by the Micarta so I’ve been inking, writing, emptying, then drying to avoid staining at the nib section. I’ve been using grey inks with the black and white/grey material and all’s well. I see the very slightest bit of discoloration so I would definitely suggest matching your ink to your pen and fill the converter separately or with a syringe. Overall - a real winner - a lot of attention was given to matching the “grain” from the cap to the body to the section - Beautiful!

When I received this pen I was surprised by the size of the pen and the nib. I wasn’t sure how well it would write. I was very happily surprised how it felt in my hand and even more so how it wrote. Very smooth and graceful writer for a large pen.

Very nice pen, the flex definitely lives up to the hype. The build quality is solid and the nib wrote fine out of the box. The nib writes in about a fine/extra fine line until you apply pressure. The only thing to be aware of is that this pen run through ink very quickly, which is to be expected. After three rather quick writing sessions writing only 3 A5 pages I was out.

I love the look, feel, and writing experience of this pen, as well as how it represents the American flag and what it symbolizes. The broad nib is smooth and very well tuned. The bounciness of the nib adds to its smoothness and character! The red stripes on the barrel are raised. And give it a nice tactile feel (I see it as a positive but some may not like it). The one quality problem could be the possibility of cross threading when capping, just be careful to make sure the threads are aligned. All around great pen.

Just received and I love it! So very patriotic, I am proud to show this pen off! It is a large pen especially when you post it but I have large hands and it fits me perfectly, the broad nib was smooth out of the box and writes nice and wet. Magna Carta makes some very cool pens, thanks for carrying this brand Pen Chalet!

My first Magna Carta. I was told the medium nib is a bit on the fine side. I went with a broad. I like a more wet writing pen. I find the broad to be a good writer and functions like many of my medium nib pens. I ran the nib over some 12000 micro-grit and it smoothed out quite nicely for a steel nib. The look of this pen is quite nice and will serve me well. I certainly don't regret purchasing this one. Limited Editions/Exclusives are always fun to have in the collection.
