Customer Reviews

This is such a fun pen. I bought the 'FINE' nib. I love the looks, and the writing feel. The pen is larger and heavier than what I expected and I was pleasantly surprised. Also, I got the blue one with a hexagon pattern, with a blue nib... loving it!!

I have never been so excited to get my hands on a pen than I was with this one. I saw it on YouTube and knew I had to have it so I was beyond thrilled when Pen Chalet started selling Magna Carta. The pen arrived, I ripped it open, inked it up, and was instantly... disappointed. Not in the pen, it's beautiful. But the Broad nib which I was expecting to be wet,and BRROAAADDD was more like a medium nib. Not sure if that is because of the feed or if it's the tipping on the nib itself. It's just not what I was expecting. So if you are buying the broad in hopes of getting a nice thick line, witn a juicy flow- this isn't the one. I do love the pen body though- it feels almost like glass, but not in a sharp way. And the translucent green is so lovely. I can definitely recommend the pen, and if you like Japanese pens/nibs, this is right up your alley.

The green model is actually a little more lime than the photo, which is excellent, because it matches my old uranium glassware perfectly! And I wasn't expecting the ebonite feed to be colored green as well, so that was a beautiful surprise. It is a bit backweighted and overlong to really use while posted, so the back threads are a bit of a detriment to the appearance. The cap threads line up the clip perfectly with the nib, but the back threads do not.

Big pen with cool feel in hand. Make sure when you fill, you do not let the grip get in the ink. Staining occurs and you will need to use mild soap, as water alone and rubbing will not take it off. Takes a considerable amount of effort. Good nib and cool material. From now on I will fill the converter and not dip the nib.
