The Montegrappa Fortuna fountain pen embodies good fortune and luck, personified by the Goddess of Fortuna. Romans believed that the chance events were closely linked to virtue and strength or character. The Montegrappa company believes this to be too that luck is tied to virtue with education as the foundation one develops their talents. For this reason they created the Fortuna line of writing instruments to create good luck to the owner.
Made from black resin with three finishes, palladium, rose gold, and gun metal. Each Montegrappa Fortuna fountain pen comes with a smooth writing stainless steel nib and is available in a cartridge/converter style pen.

The pen also comes with a couple of Montegrappa ink cartridges, which it uses a standard universal ink cartridge. You can see the carbon fiber Montegrappa logo on the bottom of the bed of the case.
This is the Montegrappa Fortuna Skull Fountain Pen. The pen has the 1912 emblem on the top of the cap, with a dull or matte finish black metal clip. It has a small roller on the end of that clip, thick metal band at the bottom of the cap with the Montegrappa logo engraved into it, a glossy finish on the cap and the barrel of the pen.
You can see a nice large skull on the back side on the cap of the pen and those matching smaller skulls on the barrel of the pen. It has a plain black finish on the bottom of the barrel. The cap is threaded and unscrews and it can be posted on the pen. It has a metal-threaded section transferring into the resin, shiny, glossy resin grip section. You can see the feed section on the back side and the black color Montegrappa nib. It has the Montegrappa logo and the honeycomb shape or pattern on the rest of the nib.
This is a cartridge-converter style pen. So to change the ink, you unscrew that grip section from the barrel of the pen. Also included with the Montegrappa Fortuna Skull Fountain Pen is an ink converter. If you would rather use bottled inks, that's an option as well.

This is, without a doubt, the finest fountain pen I've ever used. It is a perfect size. It writes flawlessly and smoothly. And it is absolutely beautiful. The beauty of this pen is very understated.

I was immediately attracted to this pen for its impressively rugged goid looks. I eas not as thrilled with it as a writer. I hope that soneday they will have gold or titanium nib options.

I bought the white rose gold medium nib, don't be fooled by the picture,the nib,clip and band look pink but it's gold in color,but that's ok, it looks like a four hundred dollar pen it's that sleek and classy looking.
the medium nib is ok,but writes much much better after you flush it so make sure you flush it out thoroughly with a bulb syringe don't just flush it with a converter, that's a lot of work and boring
after being flushed out it's nice and smooth,but before the flushing it was skipping,hard starting and when it did write it wasn't very smooth or pleasant, no scratchiness, but not fun

I bought the white with rose gold trim. The nib is pretty big and writes fine. It's very nice to look at. The trim and nib are not pink like they look in the picture, it has a gold colour. It's still a quality pen and professional looking.
