The Maiora Aventus fountain pen tapers out from the center. The pen has a slight conical shape at the crown of the cap and a spring metal clip. The embellished ring between the pen clip and the bottom of the pen cap highlights Maiora's dedication to excellent craftsmanship with exquisite detailing. Just below the bottom of the pen cap (when closed), another ring embellishes the barrel of the pen and draws attention to the sophisticated lines and ambitious colors. The Maiora Aventus exceeded my expectations. It's a beautiful resin, the clip, and other decor are elegant, jewelry quality and feels very durable. The fine flex nib is a dream to write with, and the grip and overall weight are very comfortable for long writing. Also pleasantly surprised by how much ink the piston cartridge holds once I figured out how to fill it.

I absolutely adore the pen, although I've been getting some dry/false starts with the flex nib and Monteverde ink, even on my Leuchtturm. The end of the barrel twists off for easy access to the converter which is such a nice time-saving feature. The flex is about a Medium width, which was more than I expected, and if you use a wetter ink the line variation if negligible. Very smooth writer though, and good use of weight especially when posted.

This pen is so pretty, I almost don't want to use it. I think I should display it on a shelf with a light shining on it. Seriously, I did do a dip test and it writes smoothly. The color is mesmerizing, and it has more depth than I thought. More importantly, Pen Chalet has wonderful sales and really amazing and responsive customer service!

Marvelous Pen. Love the materials from which it is made. Love the colors of yellow within it. Excellent nib, writes smoothly with the inks I use, and the papers too. Service was quick, painless, efficient. Shipping was fast. No complaints at all. I will be back to Pen Chalet for more Maiora pens.

Beautiful looking pen, one of the best I've seen in person. Major design flaw makes it unusable though. There is a screw in the top of the cap that scrapes against the nib everytime you cap the pen. Penchalet actually replaced my first one because the nib was bent completely-this was before I realized why. Took me a bit to realize what was happening with the replacement-the 2 signs were hard starts after capping the nib and a slight grinding sensation at the end of capping. A bit of use has led to the nib being pretty messed up...but now it's too late. Beware of this pen, the cap not being deep enough for the nib is a pretty big design flaw.
