About the Esterbrook JR Pocket
The Esterbrook JR Pocket fountain pen is inspired by a classic 1950's Esterbrook fountain pen design known as the "J." Esterbrook's J was sleek and suave - a timeless classic that held wide appeal for both men and women. Esterbrook brought this timeless classic back in the new Esterbrook JR Pocket fountain pen. Bringing back all the J's design elements that generated such widespread popularity, Esterbrook's JR Pocket fountain pen adds a few modern "extras" that make this release a must for pen collectors everywhere.
The youthful, energetic design features a turned acrylic barrel and threaded cap. Pens are available in Capri Blue, Carmine Red, or Tuxedo Charcoal with a metal clip and accents matching the ring and stainless steel nib (glossy rhodium or gold plating).
The recently released Pumpkin Latte Esterbrook JR Pocket fountain pen is made of turned warm brown acrylic. The accent piece near the top of the cap is an autumnal orange and the pen is finished with gold-plated trim and a stainless steel gold-plated nib.
All About the Scribe Nib:
Esterbrook's new Scribe nib is created in New York by a nibmaker by the name of Josh Lax. The Scribe fountain pen nib is similar to an architect nib; ground into a wedge for broad cross-strokes paired with narrow downstrokes.
Note: Specialty nibs such as the Journaling or Scribe are custom grinds and take longer on special orders for delivery.

I love brown inks so it's lovely to have a pen made to welcome them. I found first the F nib too broad for me, so I ordered an EF, and it's a very pleasant pen to write with for journaling etc; it's light, the feed and nib are excellent so far even with dry inks. Very happy with the color, style, craftsmanship, and balance of this pen. Perfect size for someone with small to medium hands. Compares with the Sailor 1911S in size. Smooth nib and excellent flow inked with Diamine Ancient Copper. Excellent writer even with my left-handed overwriting style.

This is my first Esterbrook pen. I confess I was sucked in by the online hype of pen reviewers talking about this pen! But I'm not disappointed at all!
I got the black one, and it's lovely. Black, wish shiny grey bits swooshed through it. It writes quite well, and as usual, service and shipping from Pen Chalet was top notch.
