Today, Waldmann still manufactures 100% in Germany, and the lineup is celebrated for solid 925 sterling silver bodies with elegant engraving and Viennese-pattern finishes that look as premium as they feel in-hand. Explore iconic favorites like the Tango, Liberty, and Commander—all backed by Waldmann’s 10-year warranty and Pen Chalet’s authorized-dealer authenticity promise.
Waldmann writing instrument manufacturing was founded over 100 years ago in 1918. Based in Pforzheim, the jewelry metropolis. Founder Adolf Waldmann used decorative metal sheets of gold and silver in his writing instruments, and skilled workers were available in the area. During World War II, the Waldmann factory was destroyed, and the company quickly rebuilt afterward.
Waldman still manufactures 100% of its products today in Germany and proudly carries the "Made in Germany" mark. Old traditional techniques are still used today to produce Waldmann writing instruments. The entire Waldmann collection is produced using 925 solid sterling silver.
As a specialist for exceptional surfaces, Waldmann has made a name for itself. With noteworthy engraving and Viennese patterns found on the writing instruments, which are unique and elegant.

Customer Reviews

This pen has heft but not as much as I expected. Nice flowing nib. I personally like the gray matte finish, it goes well in my journal, penloop or with a business suit.

long, slender pen, has a deco feel. I like it, but then, I like Waldmann pens, so no surprise there.

I purchased the Waldmann Tango in the Barley Pattern. I didn't know what to expect from the picture. It's more a silvery goldfish color. I've used it with ink cartridges and bottled ink (It came with an unexpected and welcomed cartridge converter) and it writes very smoothly. I usually write with lighter fountain pens but this pen has a nice weight to it. I'm really enjoying writing with this fountain pen.

My review is for the chocolate Tuscany, B nib. The nib is smoother that many gold nibs. Waldmann pens feels luxurious to write with and you can feel the quality when you hold it. Cleaning is the same as with any cartridge converter pen, yet by doing so there is further evidence of craftsmanship by how precise each part fits to it’s counterparts. I would not use an ultrasonic cleaner due to the coating so I stick to non-pigmented inks. I’m sure someone willing to clean the pen more often could use them. I highly recommend Waldmann brand and the Tuscany in particular for uniqueness, spot-on construction, and writing enjoyment.

This pen was the most wonderful surprise. I bought it because it was deeply discounted and a German brand I hadn't yet tried. It turns out to be the smoothest writing pen I own, rivaling my Lamy 2000. It's like magic how it improves my penmanship. Mine is pattern black lacquer which is a solid black lacquer body and a silver pattern (lines) cap. Mine is a B nib. I love it!
