This is a lovely pen, and I really appreciate that it holds so much ink. It's beautifully finished and very nicely balanced. It's writing a bit dry just now (using the Colorverse ink that came with it) - sometimes skips a little bit. I'm still getting to know it.

I love this pen! The purple is a gorgeous shade and the writing is so smooth! This is my 2nd Opus and I know I'll be buying many more in the future!

Really enjoy using these eyedropper pens. Recommend medium nib over fine nib. I now have four Opus 88 fountain pens and I am very satisfied with every one. The Fiesta pen clip when posted does tend to get in my way when writing. However, these are the only eyedroppers that I have never had the problem with burping and that means a lot to an eyedropper pen user.

Loving this pen. First one had issues, but the team changed it without any hassle. The replacement works like a champ: simple, direct, efficient, comfortable, smooth, and brightly colored. Highly recommended..

It appears that the manufacturer has corrected one of the few complaints about the whole OPUS 88 line - the number of turns required to cap/uncap the pen. The pen I received has reduced the turns from 4 to 2. I assume this change will be standard from here on out. This makes an excellent pen even better.

Nice, easy to use pen. Holds a lot of ink, easy to fill. Despite being stainless steel, smooth writing nib. I'd definitely recommend it.

Complete disappointment. I ordered a medium, at most (even by Japanese standards), I would consider this nib to be a fine. Second, with first use ink has leaked into the threaded section on the bottom of the pen and I now need to figure out how to disassemble to clean. My problem is with the section below the end cap through which the plunger assembly passes. The plunger rod slides through an assembly that is threaded into the end of the pen.

Pluses: (1) Filling mechanism: This is, as far as I know, a completely new sort of eyedropper-filling mechanism. A plunger prevents burping. I don't entirely understand how it works, but it does. It's novel and it's nifty. (2) Design: If you like the traditional cigar shape (as I do), this pen has a very appealing design. I only wish there were some other choices in colors. (3) Feel: Though not a long pen, it is proportionately on the thick side, which makes it comfortable for hands of middling to large size. Well-balanced with the cap posted, but long enough that it can be used with the cap unposted. (4) Ink flow is good: I have had no problem with getting the pen started upon uncapping, apart from times when the upper reservoir needed refilling.

Minuses: (1) The nib of the specimen that I got was very scratchy—not just noisy but decidedly rough-feeling. I could detect no misalignment in the tines. A brief application of Micromesh has reduced the scratchiness to a tolerable level (I take it no further for fear of inducing baby's bottom). (2) To keep the ink flowing through a long stretch of writing, one has to adjust the plunger to let more ink into the upper reservoir. This is not difficult to do, but it does require some learning and care, as doing it incorrectly will cause a discharge ink out the nib. (3) The cap requires almost three full turns to remove from the barrel, which is a bit of a bother.

These pens are rather nifty. The colors are vibrant and the end cap/finial is crystal clear. The nibs are extremely smooth for a steel nib. Highly recommend.
