Opus 88 Omar Demonstrator Fountain Pens Reviews
I got the orange/green combo, this is my first Opus 88. The #6 nib writes well & is swappable if you need a different nib; original is semi-ornate & personalized with the brand, something they didn't have to do but i appreciate the attention to detail. The body is more orange-green leaning teal (but that's nit picking). The cap takes 3 full turns to take off, so this isnt exactly a quick writer. The ink capacity is humongous, coming in at over 3ml; I advise you get at least a medium nib to use in a decent amount of time, unless you have a 3000+ words essay to write, lol. For the price this is well worth your money to buy for around $100 or so.
Pen Chalet got this order to me in 2 days! They included all kinds of coupon codes for future discounts & kept me informed the entire time my package was in transit, they are one of the most useful places to shop, especially for military, giving 15% off which is the highest consistent discount i've been able to find for fountain pen stores. God bless (Matthew 5:45)!

This is one of my favorite new pens. The nib is smooth and wet. It starts every time and does not skip. It is well made and I do enjoy that I can see the color of the ink when I use it.

This pen is large, but because I have long fingers, it's perfect for me. Feels very comfortable in my hand. I got the orange/teal color with the stub nib and I love the whole look so much that I also got the clear demonstrator version with a broad nib. This was my first ink dropper pen and getting used to the ink flow system took a little time, but I love that I don't have to refill very often. The stub 1.5 nib is slightly wide for my taste, so I might have it ground down a little. Regularly filled with Sailor Shikiori Kin-Mokusei to match the orange.

All Opus 88 pens are, in my view, terrific and underrated, not least the Omar. Three aspects stand out: high quality of materials and construction, nicely tuned Jowo nibs, and a one-way shut-off valve filling system that’s simple, effective and reliable. And further, as a bonus, very competitively priced!

Have several Opus 88 pens but this Omar series is my favorite. And a grandchild, who loves her candy, was standing beside me as I inboxed this one. She has christened it “The Butterscotch”.
As all the Omars- it writes without a glitch and never dries out. I keep several on my desk. They are all a joy. See SBR Brown’s You Tube on this model. It’s all true.

This is my second opus, like the first I love it. Huge ink supply. No burps due to the close off valve. A real nice pen to write with. I have zero complaints or issues. I have a total of 5 opus pens and wonder if I need to purchase any other pens. The valve is the real value here.

While I own a number of fountain pens, this has become my daily writer. It holds 3ml and is easy to monitor. I have a large hand and it fits well. Iit works well with shimmer ad flake inks. But I use Zhivago in it daily with a stub nib. Could not be more pleased! Try it!

I now have 5 of these pens, obviously I really like the Opus88 Omar. These are very big pens and not really for some one with small hands as I think they will be uncomfortable to write with. I like a big pen - if you know the size of a Mont Blanc Le Grande pen - that size. These are bigger when capped and a similar size when the cap is off. I don't think they are designed to used when posted - even I, with my 7-7.5 hand find them too long and unbalanced if I do that. Without the cap posted they are a joy to write with, never hard starting and always a consistent flow whatever the ink. They are eye dropper fill pens and hold a lot of ink which is something else I really like. In addition the pens are well made, come in a range of colours and are very robust. I would highly recommend Opus88 pens but if you don't have one the Opus88 picnic might be a better first purchase, just because of size.

Love this pen! Fits great in the hand. The (EF) nib is very, very smooth. It was extremely easy to fill. So glad I purchased the "clear" version ... very cool looking pen!
