Opus 88 Koloro Fountain Pens Reviews
I really like the looks of this pen; that's what drew me to it. I like the ebonite tan sections alternated with the pale teal translucent sections. I like the fact that it is an eyedropper and that I have to open the back knob to write with it. All of that is good old-fashioned stuff that lures many fountain pen users to certain models. Now, on the minus side: I got a M nib, but it didn't write like a M. It wrote more like an EF. And I like fat nibs. So, on a hunch, I pulled out my box of spare nibs. Fished out a TWSBI MINI 1.1 mm stub. Not the 580, or the Vac 700, or the Vac mini, but the regular mini. Unscrewed the nib & feed on the Opus, then unscrewed the nib & feed on the TWSBI. Then, to my amazement and disbelief, the TWSBI nib screwed right into the opening on the Opus and it works like a dream. So I've essentially got a TWSBI pen in an Opus body. Awesome! The nibs are the same size (#5) and if you own a TWSBI, well, you know how their nibs write. Pretty darn good. Now that I have switched nibs, I am very happy with my Opus 88 Koloro. One thing I must mention: I have very small hands, and when posted, the Opus is way too big for me to write much with. My hand would get sore and tired. However, unposted, it's pretty comfortable. So: Lord help me, I might consider one of the other color models. I like them all. That's where the obsession comes in. If you are happy with the Opus narrow nib, or if you don't mind switching a TWSBI nib into it to get a fatter one, then I recommend this pen for you. I mainly recommend it based on its looks. It also functions very well, as far as the filling system and shut-off valve goes. It's a very good pen. But I say that based mainly on its appearance. It just appeals to me, in all its color offerings.

I was intrigued by this pen whilst reading a review on wellappointed desk. Did some more research and decided to take the plunge, as I have yet to have an eye-dropper pen in my collection.
I ordered the M nib version, which I find a bit too much like European F nib, a replacement is on the way.
It wrote straight out of the box, nib is nice and smooth with just a hint of feedback. I like the size and the pen does not become "top heavy" when posted.
Last but not least it hold "a lot" of ink.

I normally look for and write with vintage fountain pens, however, once and a while a modern pen catches my attention. This was the case with the Koloro Opus 88. I've never owned an eye dropper fill pen and this one is easy to fill and writes very well. I love the design! Thanks to the nice folks at Pen Chalet for the free and prompt shipping. I will be back!

This is a quality pen. I have been using for a few weeks and have had absolutely no issues with it. It is easy to fill and just as easy to flush out.

So, I have to honest - I was really sceptical about this pen, but I decided to pull the trigger anyway. And I think this was really a good buy. The quality on the pen is quite exceptional, I mean, the nib ALWAYS aligns to the back of the cap, so you could clearly see the nib when the pen is capped. The pen holds quite a large amount of ink, and it does not write as wet as I expected. I was blown away by the quality of the pen, and I think if you like dark demonstrators, this might be the pen for you!

Love the look and the nib. Very smooth, but writes more like an extra fine nib. My only complaint is that it takes just about four full rotations of the cap to uncap or recap, which is the only reason I gave it a lower mark for functionality. Other than that I'm happy with the purchase, and Pen Chalet customer service was top notch. I'm waiting for PC to get the demonstator in now. Hoping it doesn't have the same issue with capping/uncapping...

The Opus 88 is a great pen! The blue/tan is a great combo, and the steel nib is wonderfully smooth. The filling system is very easy to use, and it’s nice to not always have a cartridge/converter system. As usual, Pen Chalet’s customer service can’t be beat. No joke, pick up this pen!
