Montegrappa Monte-Grappa Fountain Pens Reviews
I had no expectations of this pen, because there are pretty much no reviews. I can see why this pen might sneak under radar, because in catalogs it looks very plain and chunky. In your hand, though, you can see that the curves are nice and the decorative band on the rim of the cap gives a restrained bit of flash. In use, it's very nicely balanced and the feed is smooth. The nib is pretty standard Montegrappa smooth-writing steel. The piston-fill mechanism works well and the reservoir seems to be generous. I enjoy writing with it a lot, which seems to be the point of this pen much more than showing off. (Although I think another fountain pen fancier could spot the quality and give you a knowing nod.) The only thing I miss is an ink window.
