Esterbrook Estie Fountain Pens Reviews
My fifth Esterbrook, second “Estie”. Nice pen in all respects. I like the weight. Well balanced posted or not. Also, credit due to whoever designed Esterbrook’s packaging - very nice! These pens would make great gifts.

Absolutely the finest writing instrument I've ever used in my life. The ink flows smoothly on almost any grade of paper. Definitely worth the investment.

Great vintage style pen, smooth writer and good cap/sealing to prevent drying out.

This little Lilac gem has joined the rest of the Estie collection of mine. I can't get enough of these!!! Their size and weight are, for lack of better words...Most Excellent!!! I got the regular size and it fits perfectly in my hand and fingers. The pen also comes with a converter so I put some Classic Platinum Cassis Black ink in it - WOW is all I have.....(that review is next) The Nib is a wonderful Broad #6 that has the grace of an Ice Skater....not sure who makes it for them. I will sometimes swap them for JoWo Nibs that are Amazing as well.

This is a great pen. I particularly like the unique way the cap seals the nib. Exceptional design.

Esterbrook Estie in Cobalt/Gold. The pen is very well made with attention to detail. No sharp edges on the cap or threads, good balance, and a delightful writer (medium nib). Very simple and elegant pen with only the clip showing when closed. Taking the cap off shows off the accents (gold on mine) on both the section and barrel. I prefer to post my pens, and this one allows for that. The nib has just enough feedback to be pleasant. Definitely not as much as a Platinum, not even Aurora, but some feedback. The medium nib is wet enough to allow for shading to show through on inks, but not wet enough to mess up your pages. A nice balance. One thing I am looking forward to is purchasing the adaptor that will allow the use of vintage Esterbrook nibs. Maybe that’s a marketing novelty, but I have a collection of vintage Esterbrooks with all manner of nibs, and it would be a hoot to try them out in a modern writer.

This torpedo or "balance" shape is my favorite and this size fits my hand perfectly, not too long or short. The pen is fairly light and the section fits my hand so it can be used for a long time and with no fatigue.
But probably the best part of this pen is the nib/feed. It starts writing as soon as the nib hits the paper, regardless of how long I let it sit. It writes a consistent thin line (I got a Fine nib). Probably the best steel nib I have.
The cap does have the spring loaded inner cap to seal the nib and prevent it from drying out. Frankly I find it a bit annoying but it does work I guess.
Not a "cheap" pen but an excellent value.

Of my 300+ pens, this was the best "immediate out of box" experience. I was absolutely blown away by the feel and quality. I just "wanted an Etsie" for my collection. It has the feel of a $500 + pen. I added the converter and am enjoying trying out the vintage nibs (ooh, the medium stub). It is not as "Green" as appears around the web photos, but it is a nice grey-green in person. It has a very modern seal system, so I have had zero evaporation. The "Click and screw" capping process is odd at first, but yields a nice benefit. My F felt like a butter soft custom job at a pen show.
