This pen is very unique. It is hard to appreciate all of the details from the pictures on the website and even from Pininfarina's site. BTW – this is from a world-class design firm, not necessarily known as a classic pen maker. This modern, high-design pen is made from a nice weight aluminum with an anodized finish. It is not lightweight - it is heavy enough to feel substantial but not fatiguing in your hand and with the right refill, it feels like it can write by itself. The nose and refill retract and extend into and from the body as you twist the pen clip around the body to the other preset position. It is a solid movement as the clip moves flush with the body and out of the way in the writing position. When retracting, the refill and the end of the pen retract into the body, and the clip moves back to “gripping position.” It's not a real snug grip as there has to be some room to pivot. This could be the only slight drawback to this pen - but – I keep mine in my shirt pocket and have not had a problem. The pen body is triangular in shape, ergonomically sized and shaped to be very different from a round body pen and very comfortable to hold and write with. I switched refills to a smooth-writing hybrid-type of ballpoint and this pen practically writes by itself. This beautifully designed pen is a conversation piece as well as a joy to use.

I think this is my new favorite pen! With a magnetic clasp for the cap there are no threads to rub against my hand when writing. It is metal and a little heavier but I really enjoy the weight of the heavier pens! Really superb!
