LOVE this pen. Sure, everyone says that about a new pen but I'm consistently impressed with Diplomat nibs. Their in-house testing and QC are impressive. The weight and balance of this hooded nib are perfect and the forest green is stunning. Magnetic closure is a nice touch. I haven't had it long enough to experience cleaning it but I know it (sadly) does not disassemble. We'll see how that goes.

What a beauty! The green textured body makes this probably the best looking pen in my collection. Sometimes I have a little trouble hitting that sweet spot when writing, but when that nib is lined up on the paper the letters go down smoothly. My only complaint is that after skipping a day or two, the pen takes a little extra coaxing to write. But once the ink starts to flow...swe-e-et!

Wonderful writer and good for EDC. I’ve been impressed with how well the cap seals, given the magnet system. The nib is pleasantly wet and smooth. It does have a bit of a sweet spot, but writes consistently when you learn it.

Really beautiful pen that really has no direct comparison. The nib length is longer than what I'm used to, but writes like a charm. Though, it took some time getting used to. Really smooth writing experience with slight feedback. It scratches easily, so make sure to store it safely and stow it away from hard or sharp materials.

What a delightful pen, especially for a left-handed over-writer like myself. Good nib size for a little line variation but still fine enough for smaller writing (or printing) on journal-sized (6.5mm line spacing) paper.

The color of the pen is definitely NOT a copper color but more of a medium brown with rose gold hardware, still pretty stunning in person though. The grip area is slightly slippery, not the best but more to do with how I hold the pen. I had quite a few times where the ink wouldn't start and it just seems a little finicky with the writing angle for me, not an issue I ever had with my Lamy Safari. The magnetic cap is very strong, posting the cap isn't the best and seems to come off while I write, maybe I'm not pushing it down enough? Also, make sure to pull the cap straight off, any twisting could separate the body and barrel section as I have done a couple times now. The hooded nib likes to hold onto ink after filling, but that should be expected. I have been writing with Pilot Iroshizuku Syun-Gyo ink. Good match color wise and and it flows pretty well out of the nib. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase and I have enjoyed writing with the pen.

This has been on my wishlist for a long time. Bought it on a sale and have not regretted it. Comfortable and a brilliant nib. I have the FINE nib and it writes like a fine (finer than most European), and is delightful. I have the orange pen--never thought I would want an orange pen, but it's just great. The regular price (pre-tariffs) definitely worth the price, but on sale is always great.

Big fan of Diplomat fountain pens, including the Viper. Nice size with a professional look. Smooth writing. Love the hooded nib, but I have to be aware of "rolling" it so that it stays in the "sweet" spot. Although the nib section is metal, it does not feel slick. For the price, it is a great pen for daily use (like the Lamy 2000).

Nice pen! Smooth finish - nice to hold. Med/Fine nib writes like a Fine, very smooth. Magnetic cap holds and posts well - does not rotate! When writing though I do have to readjust my finger position occassionally- my problem. Overall another fantastic pen fron Diplomat!!!

A nice pen. The section is a little slick for me so I grip closer to the body. I have not had any hard starting issues. Ink flow is good, nib is smooth, and the magnetic cap seems to close tightly preventing ink evaporation. You may need to use some care recapping the pen; it could be a bit noisy in a meeting or classroom setting. The pen has a nice balance in my hand. While the cap can be posted I don’t as a posted pen feels, and looks, odd to me. I feel this pen makes a good first/backup pen for anyone.

Very solid pen! We enjoy this greatly. Honestly a treat to write with. Good weight to it, and the magnetic cap is EXCELLENT - could spend a lot of time just snapping it on and off. The hooded nib works incredibly well with the pen body, and the nib is solid - our mother, who has used fountain pens for longer than us, called this a bit scratchy, but to be quite honest, we prefer it to some "less scratchy" pens. Lovely flow! Well worth the price tag!
