Love the look and build of this pen. It feels really good in my hand and is very easy to write with including long sessions. Thanks to Pen Chalet I am, finally, able to own a Monteverde fountain pen.

The chatoyance on the brown model is incredible, especially when you take it out in the sunlight. I have the medium nib and I like the way it feels in the hand and the way it writes, I have purchased a broad nib for it as well.

I had previously purchased the Giant Sequoia in Green and was slightly disappointed. This pen was one of the pen situations you find where its a beautiful big heavy pen but the nib kinda sucks. And by 'sucks' I mean dry and scratchy and just a terrible writer. So when PenChalet put the blue and brown ones on sale (I suspect they found some lost pens somewhere since these have been sold out forever) that this would be the same case. I was pleasantly surprised!! My green must have been an utter exception because I got the brown and blue fully expecting to have to replace the nib with something more functional....and lo and behold they wrote beautifully! I was soo happy! I got two beautiful pens that needed no work to get the performance I demand out if it. And now I have all three colors. I love these hefty pens. They are just soo pretty, unique, and big enough to fit my big hands!

I love the looks of this pen and the nib is okay. However, it dries out immediately - it’s like the cap does nothing to seal the nib off when not in use.

I prefer larger pens so this one caught my eye. I like the colors and the overall shape as w size. The nib is a Fine and is very smooth. The ink flow is perfect and so far no hard starts or skipping at all. It has quickly become one of my favorites.
