The Visconti Alexander the Great Limited Edition rollerball pen release coincides with the 2,300th anniversary of the young conqueror's death after a valiant life cementing him in history as a key figure in the development of ancient civilization.
At his death, he was only 32 years old. However, even in his short lifetime, Alexander the Great left behind an extraordinary legacy. He founded and re-established numerous cities but is most known for Alexandria in Egypt, the center of Hellenistic civilization and the largest of the ancient world.
The Visconti Alexander the Great Limited Edition rollerball pen is crafted in a cylindrical shape with carved details reminiscent of Greek columns. Artisans crafted a map of Alexander the Great's empire with a scrimshaw technique darkened so the depiction stands out against the pen's ivory-colored resin. The intricate design is topped with aged bronze metal fittings and traditional Greek embellishments.
The Visconti Alexander the Great Limited Edition rollerball pen's center ring inscription reads, "Alexander the Great," and on the bronze band on the pen's barrel, a gilded plate showcases the face of Alexander the Great. The aged bronze pen clip pays homage to the Macedonian phalanx with a spear shape featuring a gilded shield with a depiction of the sun, which was Alexander the Great's family crest.
