The Stipula Night of Saint Lorenzo Limited Edition fountain pen commemorates the 30th anniversary of the original Stipula Florentia pen release. Each Stipula Night of Saint Lorenzo Limited Edition fountain pen is fitted with a 14kt Sti-Flex gold nib (varying sizes). The friction-fitted 14kt Sti-Flex nib is an in-house nib and offers natural line variation along with the flexibility to generate even greater line variation if desired. The sublime nib is paired with an ebonite feed for rich, consistent ink flow.

The inspiration for this 30th anniversary edition is the Night of Saint Lorenzo. Each year on the evening of August 10th, millions of Italians turn their faces to the sky to watch the shooting stars light up the heavens on The Night of Saint Lorenzo (La Notte di San Lorenzo), making wishes and general revelry against the stunning backdrop created by the annual Perseid meteor shower. The tradition combines the martyrdom of the beloved saint with the astral phenomenon, and it is said that the shooting stars filling the sky are actually the tears of Saint Lorenzo.

When creating this release, Stipula looked to The Night of Lorenzo for inspiration. The superb resin is a deep, dark blue reminiscent of the night sky with varying shades of lighter blue and grey that seem to capture the light.

The Florentia Night of the Saint Lorenzo Limited Edition is a resin piston filling fountain pen with Sterling Silver trim. The elegantly chiseled clip features a streamlined design decorated by the well-known Stipula leaves (part of the company logo). The pen is flat at the top and bottom, and the cap ring features more of the Stipula leaves. The cap is threaded, and the section matches the barrel. The piston filling system is operated by the piston knob at the end of the barrel.

To operate a Stipula piston filler, you turn the piston knob counterclockwise to fill the pen with ink, and clockwise to expel the ink. (This is opposite of most other fountain pens in the industry). The Stipula logo is etched on the barrel along with the pen's serial number (limited to 300 pieces as a reference to the 30th anniversary of the original Florentia pen launch).
