I love the way this pen looks and feels. Whether when I'm writing and the ink is smoothly flowing or just running my finger over the raised "keys of the typewriter" all the details are there.

I'm more a fountain pen writer, but these Retro 51 collector's item instruments are very interesting looking pens and the Schmidt roller ball cartridges are smooth as silk. (I do miss stains on my cuffs and fingers, of course ....) I think they will make interesting gifts to my grandkids. Hopefully they would be hard to lose! And you'd surely notice it in the hands of some other kid. At the age of 70, what I still worry about from having and using a nice pen in high school!

I bought the red typewriter as a consolation prize because I missed the blue and white one. The red one is absolutely GORGEOUS, and of course, it writes like a dream. I thought it would be really heavy, but it's much lighter than the navy Retro 51 I have, and very comfortable to use. I'm thrilled, thanks!
