I use this ink in my Platinum Preppy marker pens and the ink is a nice semi-bright shade of blue. It is not too dark on paper and I like that. I have not used it in a fountain pen so I cannot say how the color lays down using a nib rather than a marker tip.

Yes the Platinum Cartridge(2pk) Dye Fountain Pen Ink will fit the Platinum Preppy pens as do the Platinum Pigment Blue cartridges. All Platinum ink cartridges will fit the Platinum Preppy fountian pens.
