Originally released in May of 2001, the Platinum Bottled Carbon Ink is known for its intense black color. The Platinum Carbon ink was originally released in cartridge form but is now available in a bottle as well. The fountain pen ink is water resistant and light fast.

I love the carbon Black for everyday use. It doesn't have a problem with any paper that I have available, so it's perfect for picking up for everyday writing at work or in any setting.

Good waterproof black ink. Saving it for applications where I don't want my ink to run AT ALL.
Caveat: if you are rinsing a pen with this ink in an old porcelain sink, MAKE SURE you rinse and clean the sink IMMEDIATELY. Otherwise you may end up with a slight stain on your sink that doesn't yield to scouring powder OR bleach. This was totally my fault. And luckily I've got a bath re-do coming in the future!

One of my favorites inks to sketch. It is waterproof and dries fast, making it perfect for sketching on location (urban sketching) and applying watercolor washes on top as it will not smear with water.. But since this ink has very small particles, it could clog a fountain pen. Thus I never fill my expensive ( $100+) pens with this ink, instead, I use Lamys or better yet, Noodlers AHAB pens. This ink is the PERFECT combination with the noodlers pens (I bought a couple of Ahab pens here too). Nearly every part of the Ahab pen is replaceable and the nibs are $5 making it worry free if it clogs ( on the rare occasions where my nib clogged because I let the pen sit for a month and used another pen, I just let the nib soak in a glass with alcohol overnight then used a tooThbrush to wash it with soft scrub soap - and bam, nib could be reused!)The price of this ink ($16) at this site is also extremely competitive.
