About Carbon Pineider Back to the Future

Journey into the past with Pineider's Back to the Future rollerball pen, an ultramodern design that manages to encapsulate the epic journey that is the centuries old history of Pineider. While Pineider's history began in 1774, it was reborn along with the rest of Italy in 1949 after the horrors of WWII.

Pineider's quest for their own past led them to this new beginning - a time referred to as the year of impatience when Hollywood movie stars flocked to Italy and Pineider was dedicated (along with the rest of their Italian neighbors) to rebuilding.

Included with the iconic Pineider Back to the Future rollerball pen is "1949", a book published by Pineider that tells the story of this moment in Italy's history, including Pineider clients who visited Florence from Hollywood legends to politicians, artists and scientists.

Back to the Future is a Limited Edition of 949 rollerball pens or fountain pens. The shape of the pen is inspired by the quill, used historically by the Romans and Egyptians and originally made of cane or rush. This type of quill was used through the 6th century until it was replaced by the goose-feather quill.

The Back to the Future rollerball cap and barrel are in carboiridium, a carbographite case with a special finish in spiralled carboiridium that creates a unique effect in direct light. The clip pays homage to the goose-feather and calls to mind the original inspiration of the pen, the quill. The precision of the Back to the Future rollerball pen design support's Pineider's primary goal of bringing pleasure to writing.
