About Green-Black Pelikan M120
The Special Edition Pelikan M120 Fountain pen in Green-Black has a retro touch. This redesign of the first Pelikan M120 model that was first launched in 1955 has the same shape and gold plated stainless steel nib. Improvements have been made for comfort and the proven Pelikan piston fill mechanism. The special edition pen comes with a specially engraved nib that re-interprets a curlicue found on an 1889 Pelikan price list. The pen is made from high quality resin and the rings and clip are gold plated to match the nib.

Simple basic black cap on the top, has a gold ring that attaches to the pelican bill shaped clip. The bottom of the cap is a gold band with Pelikan and Germany engraved, and the very end of the barrel is this black actuator. It's a piston style fountain pen. Actually, that piston you simply control it by moving that actuator there at the end of the barrel. You can actually see that here, as well as the ink level for the pen.
The cap is threaded, it unscrews, and can be posted on the pen. I like the size of the pen with it posted. It has a black resin section to the pen, you see the threads here for the cap, and there's the feed on the backside of the nib. The nib is a stainless steel nib that is gold plated, has the Pelikan logo engraved, as well as a circuf found on a Pelikan price list and it's kind of unique to this pen. Special edition pen, like the design, great pen, Pelikan is a great brand. Get your Pelikan M120 fountain pen at PenChalet.com!

Pelikan M120 Video Script
This is the Pelikan M120 fountain pen. It comes in a grayish-brown cardboard box. It has the Pelikan logo printed in brown on the top of the box lid, which slides off. Included with the pen is a soft leatherette pouch for carrying the pen, has the Pelikan logo embossed on the corner flap, and nice stitching on the edges. Also included with the pen is information about Pelikan in a small little flyer there. The pen of course is inside the pouch, the Pelikan M120 fountain pen. This is a special edition pen, a remake of an older model. Black and green color resin, little shiny gloss to those resins and a rounded ends, kind of a cigar shaped pen.Simple basic black cap on the top, has a gold ring that attaches to the pelican bill shaped clip. The bottom of the cap is a gold band with Pelikan and Germany engraved, and the very end of the barrel is this black actuator. It's a piston style fountain pen. Oh. My. Goodness! I purchased this for my brother (without his knowledge, lol), but after trying it, it has become my only Pelican pen and one if my favorites. Mine has a broad nib, it writes wet - which I love - and is very soft and springy to the touch. I would love to have a larger Pelikan pen, but this one works great for me. I love the way it’s made, land it’s functionality is great!

This pen is really pretty to view. I love the nostalgia of a retro pen which this M120 is to represent. Also, it's a Pelikan, a reliable, prestige pen maker, and it has such a nice presentation. And, the Pen Chalet store provided a reasonable price and very timely delivery. I am very pleased with this company.
I love the piston fill, and it moves the plunger smoothly and fills the reservoir with a nice ink supply. I also love the dark green/black contrast with the gold accents of nib, clip, and trim.
However, I find the pen to be "light" to hold, and I rather anticipated a bit more weight to feel more substantial when writing with it. I've not written enough with it to know if the fine nib will smooth with use, but it does have a bit of scratch, not uncommon with fine nibs.
I am sure this pen is a fine pen, but I am not sure I can see the quality of the pen for the price. Perhaps I expected more because I normally cannot afford this much pen. I saved, however, and hopes for owning a really fine Pelikan.
First, the pen is a little shorter and really does better posted. Second, I would have thought the piston cap would have been smooth to the barrel; but it is slightly smaller than the barrel and leaves a ridge. So, I like the pen okay, but I don't love it. At least, not yet. I hope it gets better with use, but I'm a little disappointed. I'm sure it's a really nice pen, and for sure it is pretty. But, I think I expected more for the price.

It's simply a little beauty. It's a bit slender, but not too slender, a bit smaller than I usually choose, but not too small. It's elegant.

An update of the old student pen, the M120 continues the light weight of the original, and adds updated construction and nib that makes the pen easier to use, less likely to leak (I love my old 120s, but leak they do)and pleasingly similar in look to the 120 (though slightly shorter and stubbier). I gather that price is consistent with this being a somewhat limited edition. The fine nib seems less flexible than the original, and lays down a slightly heavier line of ink than I expected. Nonetheless, I'm pleased to have and use the M120.

This is a wonderful pen. As is typical of Pelikan, it wrote beautifully straight out of the box and for an entire day and early evening taking notes and writing lectures. The extra-fine nib is smooth rather than scratchy and allows for small, precise writing. For decades I have loved Rapidographs for small writing in daily appointment books, but for the past few years they have deposited blobs on the page after just a week of writing. The M120 extra-fine has now replaced the Rapidograph. The only difference is that the Aurora ink is not quite so saturated. Otherwise the line is as elegant and controlled as a Rapidograph. It's gorgeous to look at (the nib especially), comfortable in the hand and already a loyal friend. A+
