Inspired by the racing industry, the Monteverde Innova Formula M fountain pen is all about power, speed, and competition with a PVD-coated 304 wire-braided stainless steel sleeve over a brass barrel. Often fitted on high performance cars, wire braiding offers the best protection against mechanical damage.

The Monteverde Innova Formula M collection offers three color options: PVD black, PVD blue, and PVD bronze.

How Did Monteverde Make the Braided Mesh?

The braided mesh featured in the Monteverde Innova Formula M fountain pen is made by winding wire around a core on rapidly rotating spools moving in a circular pattern that weaves the wire together and molds it into a flexible and robust braid. The advantage of 304 wire-braided mesh is its incredible durability and resistance against UV rays, abrasion, and chemical corrosion. It can easily be described as virtually indestructible. Each fountain pen is finished with a matte PVD coating to offer key performance features and additional vibrancy, luster, and durability.

What is PVD?

PVD or Physical Vapor Deposition is a process using diverse thin film deposition techniques to focus on vaporizing a solid material in a vacuum environment, resulting in deposition onto the surface as a pure material coating. The resulting material coating is aesthetically pleasing AND extremely durable, can reduce friction and serve as a barrier against potential damage. PVD coating is also highly resistant to tarnishing and corrosion, creating the possibility for decorative finishes with colors that do not fade.

Each of the Monteverde Innova Formula M fountain pen is a cartridge converter fountain pen featuring a cap and front section made from sold brass and coated with matte PVD. A unique and attractive CARBON FIBER RING offsets the gunmetal trim to complete the race-worthy design. Fountain pens are equipped with a branded stainless steel #6 JoWo nib and is compatible with standard international size cartridges and converters (included with the pen).

The Monteverde Innova Formula M fountain pen is also available as a rollerball or ballpoint. Each is packaged in a Monteverde pen box with a custom graphic sleeve.
