Copernicus was born in Poland and spent his life as a Renaissance polymath theorizing that the planets revolved around the sun. His ideas were not widely accepted. In fact even 200 years later when his ideas started to gain traction, they remained banned by the Catholic church until 1835.

Celebrate the 1st European scientist to theorize that the Earth and other planets revolve around the sun with this 550th anniversary release, the Montegrappa Nicolaus Copernicus rollerball pen made almost entirely of sterling silver (with the only exception being the section made of black and white ebonite). The stunning creation celebrating the European scientist who didn't get to enjoy the glory of his discovery during his lifetime also features lost wax casting details in the ruzzolino clip's mathematician's compass and the working reproduction of the celestial globe on the top of the cap - just like those seen in the official Copernicus monument in front of the Warsaw Polish Academy of Sciences.

The Montegrappa Nicolaus Copernicus rollerball pen also features low-relief engraving details, and vermeil depicting the sun amidst the eight orbiting planets. Traditional Slavic cross-stitch patterns are showcased on the pen's blind cap and cap band, and Copernicus's signature is included on the finial.
