After trying the flex nibs thanks to a few friends with these, I knew I had to buy my own. They're like no other nib I've tried and they're a joy to use. I love this pen and am so glad I invested in one.

I wonder if I am the only one. But I got an extremely dry pen. I can’t finish writing 1 line on an A4 paper, because the nib dries out and I have to wait for ink to become available slowly again.
The flex and the feel of the nib is amazing, if only it could write continuously…

When I first got the pen I cleaned it with water and a bulb syringe before inking it. The pen skipped and hard started. I cleaned the pen again, but that did not solve the problem. I called pen chalet and the representative suggested that I soak the nib and feed in soapy water. I did this twice. The first time for about three hours. No better. The second time I soaked it overnight, but still the pen did not work correctly. I looked at the nib under magnification and saw that one of the tines was significantly longer than the other. So I called the rep again and sent the photo I took of the nib. Pen Chalet send me a new nib and feed which, again, I cleaned prior to putting it in the pen and inking it. Now the pen writes as it should. Based on my experience I don't think much of the Magna Carta quality control, but the people at Pen Chalet were very helpful and responded promptly to my concerns. The only thing I might ask is that Pen Chalet send some instructions about changing out the section. When I got the new nib and feed I could see that they screwed into the section rather than being a friction fit so there was no problem. I suppose any warranty that came with the pen might have been voided, but I think if I continued to have problems with the pen that Pen Chalet would have sent me a whole new pen.

Nice looking pen! Quite a wet flow with Diamine “Twilight” - I’m going to try “drier” inks to avoid show-through. Very expressive nib. I’m going to have fun playing with this one!

Very nice pen, the flex definitely lives up to the hype. The build quality is solid and the nib wrote fine out of the box. The nib writes in about a fine/extra fine line until you apply pressure.
The only thing to be aware of is that this pen run through ink very quickly, which is to be expected. After three rather quick writing sessions writing only 3 A5 pages I was out.

The nib on this pen is not a total waste of money if like me you use it for drawing, you need it to lay down lots of ink, and you appreciate its ability to vary line width to a great extent. Having said that, it's not particularly comfortable in the hand; the build quality is not any better than the cheapest Chinese pen I've found ($0.89); and it leaks like crazy, even in a studio environment.

Love this pen easily the best flex fountain pen I’ve come across. The nib is so soft it makes you slow down your writing to achieve the best effect of line variation plus it shows off shading ink’s wonderfully.
