About the Retro 51 Argo
The Retro 51 Argo Mach II will launch on Saturday, November 3rd at noon Eastern time.
Due to the popularity of this pen, please limit orders to only 1 of each color. If you purchase both colors we will do our best to match the numbers on each. Numbers will be randomly assigned. Coupons do not apply.
The Argo was a Greek ship that carried Jason and the Argonauts in a quest for the Golden Fleece. This Pen Chalet exclusive Tornado has a futuristic twist on this mythological story. Pen Chalet’s Argo is now your vessel to pilot into the future. Where will your quest lead?
The Argo is a special collaboration between Pen Chalet and Retro 51 comes in different color variations. The original Argo offered Kiwi and Orange Classic lacquer barrels overprinted with dark metallic silvers to reveal striations of metallic colors reflecting the light and complete with matte varnish. They are complete with matte black nickel trim with engraved number on the top ring. They are limited to 250 pens per color and are packaged in a commemorative tube.
MACH II
Mach II, a second installment of the Argo pen, features lighter striation on the skin with stonewash pewter accents with a new heads up display design on the packaging tube. The Mach II Argo has been limited to only 150 of each color and comes in either Red or Peacock Blue.
The Classic lacquer colors on the barrel shine and glisten as the light reflects off the color while the overprinted striations have a matte finish. The result is a stunning display that can only be appreciated in person.
The Retro 51 Argo rollerball pen will accept either a Schmidt Short Capless rollerball refill or a Parker style ballpoint refill.

Love this pen! Bought this pen for myself and it is quickly becoming one of my favorites. I haven't been disappointed by a Retro 51 Tornado yet. Would definitely recommend this pen to a friend. Might even buy it again in Red.

I usually don’t buy anything without the name Montevered on it. However this pen caught my eye and I bought both the blue and the red. I gave one to my grandson and he loves it. I was worried it my be smaller and lighter than I like I was not disappointed it is at least a good medium in size and weight and feels good in the hand. it came loaded with Area 51 black roller ball refill which I must say was very nice however I swapped it out for Monteverde soft roll extra fine black ballpoint and its now my go to ballpoint pen on my desk.

Mainly purchased as a collection item based on looks. The twist top action is a little stiff. The cartridge is acceptable. I think the clip feels and looks a little cheap but looks are deceiving. Much more solid than I would have expected. Machined threads feel a little scratchy. As a collectible it sits well but not a pen I would expect to use.
