The Montegrappa David Bowie: Blackstar Limited Edition rollerball pen features an ultra-modern design style inspired by the sparse, futuristic visual look of the artist's final studio album. The barrel and custom section are both carved from black, high-density acrylic, and the pen cap, trims and pen clip are structured from ultra black ruthenium-plated brass. Jonathan Barnbrook created the diamond and laser-engraved grids, glyphs, and motif design on the pen's surface. Each Montegrappa David Bowie: Blackstar Limited Edition rollerball pen tip is embellished with the artist’s lightning-bolt logo.

The Montegrappa David Bowie: Blackstar Limited Edition rollerball pen is limited to 400 pieces. Also available in fountain pen (limited to 401 pieces). Fountain pens and rollerball pens in this release are a continuous limited edition of 801 pieces (400 RB + 401 FP). The limited edition numbering is a reference to January 8th, David Bowie’s birthday and the release date of his final work.

The pens arrive in deluxe custom packaging that continues the visual theme of the artist's final studio album, with a die-cut star viewing panel. The Montegrappa David Bowie: Blackstar Limited Edition rollerball pen packaging is designed for free-standing or wall-mounted display (comes equipped with a recessed mounting bracket).
