About the Sailor Professional Gear II Realo
The Sailor Professional Gear II Realo fountain pen is a redesign of the original Sailor Pro Gear fountain pen. This new design has the same basic shape with the tapered cap and barrel and squared off ends but now offers a sleeker and longer look. The Sailor anchor logo still adorns the top of the cap and the same Sailor anchor is integrated into the clip of the pen.
The Sailor Professional Gear II Realo fountain pen comes in black resin with gold accents and a 21k gold nib.

This is a newly designed clip with the Pro Gear II. It has an anchor at the top of the clip, and a little flare at the end makes it easier to get in and out of your pocket. Then it has two gold bands at the bottom of the cap. The larger of those two gold bands we have Founded 1911 Sailor Japan engraved on it, and then it has two small gold bands with a clear window to see the inside of the pen and see the ink levels of the pen. And then that black resin barrel with a small gold band separating the knob here to fill the pen. This is a piston style fountain pen. The cap on the pen unscrews and you can post the pen, and once again you can see that clear ink window and the threads here with the small gold band separating the grip section.
And it has a 21 karat gold nib. It's a two tone nib. It has a little bit of silver and gold colors to it, and it has 1911 with the Sailor Anchor logo and some other etchings on that nib.

This is the Sailor Pro Gear II Realo Fountain Pen. It comes in a blue leather box. We have a Sailor logo printed on gold on the top of the box lid which opens, and on the underside of the lid, once again, is the Sailor logo. Having watched a few glowing reviews about the Realo, I knew I had to order one. The reviews were dead on. This pen is not too light or too heavy, the balance is excellent, the exposed ink window very handy, the nib is beautiful, and the writing is smooth with just a hint of tooth. Love this pen. It is vying with my Visconti Homo Sapiens to be my go-to writer. The body could be a bit short for some with larger hands, but I'm one who likes to write posted so it's just fine with me.

I have quite a few Japanese pens - Pilot, Namiki, Platinum and Sailor but this Sailor Pro Gear Realo II is really nice. The HM nib is wonderful - smooth and more flexible than I anticipated. It’s a smaller pen for me but fits in my hand and in a shirt pocket perfectly. This will be a daily writer for me. -K

I really enjoy writing with this pen. Although it is not quite as large as I thought it might be, it is very comfortable in my hand. I chose this pen in black and gold for its traditional styling. While may people have made negative comments about the re-styled clip, I prefer the new clip. It is bolder and is reminiscent of the Pelikan clip. The service provided by Pen Chalet was top notch helping me find a great pen when a pen I tried to order became unavailable. I definitely recommend buying pens and products from Pen Chalet.

I ordered this pen as a graduation gift to my son as he graduated from Medicine. It arrived fairly quickly considering it was shipping to Canada and he is very pleased with it. I would certainly order another pen through Pen Chalet.
