Platinum 3776 Jupiter Ebonite Video Script

This is the Platinum 3776 Jupiter Ebonite fountain pen. It comes in a wood gift box. The top lifts off and inside, it's a nice soft velvet interior. On the underside of the box lid is the Platinum logo in gold. Included with the pen is information about Platinum.

There is also a Platinum 500 ink converter for bottled inks. It also comes with a Platinum ink cartridge if you want to use cartridge inks, so you can use either the cartridge or the converter, depending on what you'd rather use. And of course, we have the Platinum 3776 Jupiter Ebonite fountain pen. It has a beautiful glossy finish to it. It also has those swirly resin patterns that are kind of a brown and auburn in the black. Nice gold accents on the pen.

You can see that on the cap, the gold-colored clip. It has a ring around the top of the cap that holds that clip on. Kind of a plain clip, just a couple of little lines around the edge. And then it has a nice, thick, gold band at the bottom of the cap. Platinum on one side and then 3776 engraved on the other. Simple rounded end through the barrel of the pen.

The cap on the pen is threaded and unscrews and it can be posted. It's a pretty good-sized pen with it posted. I think it's a little small using it without that cap posted. So I think with this pen, I'd prefer that. You can see the nib there on the pen. It comes with a solid gold 14-karat nib and the Platinum logo on it. I think you can see the feed there on the back side as well.

Cartridge converter style pen, so to change the ink you'd unscrew the section from the barrel of the pen. That platinum converter is attached, but you can replace this with a cartridge if you want to use the cartridge inks, whichever you prefer. There's a proprietary cartridge so it will only accept the Platinum brand cartridge. Great-looking pen, I really like that Jupiter Ebonite pattern. 14k M nib
This is a nice pen, and my second attempt to figure out why some people love Platinum pens (my first was a Platinum 3776 with an EF nib; not a good choice for someone who doesn't know what a Platinum EF nib is).
The brown and black ebonite body is very well manufactured. The threads are smooth and precise. There is a slight step on the cap between the gold band and the open end, which creates an unusual sensation when handling the pen while capped. Also, the brown and black combination may not appeal to everyone. It does not have a striking appearance, even though it is polished to a high gloss.
The pen has no noticeable ebonite smell.
The nib has a beautiful writing feel. I'm much happier with the HM nib than the EF.
