Red Rebellion Ebonite Noodlers Neponset Fountain Pens

About Red Rebellion Ebonite Noodlers Neponset
Named after an ariship blimp designed by the New England Airship company, Dartmouth Airship Co., The Noodlers Ink Acrylic Neponset fountain pen comes with an ebonite feed while the body and cap of the pen are acrylic. The various color choices offer drastic patterns and designs.
The Noodlers Ink Neponset is the largest of their fountain pens they offer. Its shape is similar to the airship and is built from the original material used for fountain pens, ebonite which was vulcanized by Charles Goodyear in Massachusetts and his company also built the Neponset blimp.
The pen is fitted with a three-tined flex music nib, the "Vishnu Victory", for line variation. Vishnu Victory being in honor of the World War II soldiers as well as the source of ebonite used for the original fountain pens and Nepeonset airship. The Neponset fountain pen is also fitted with a plunger style piston fill mechanism.

This is the ghostly blue version of the pen. You can see in both the cap and the barrel it has the alternating blue and white acrylic resins, and it has a pearlized pattern to it so you can kind of see the different sheens as you rotate that barrel and the light reflects off of it. You can see that pearlized both of the blue and the white. The pattern of the pen, it reminds me of a lava lamp a little bit.
Then, at the bottom of the cap we have a small chrome band. It has the Noodler's Ink logo engraved on that band. And once again on the clip of the pen, it's a chrome colored clip with the Noodler's Ink logo engraved again. And that clip is held on by that thin chrome band at the top of the cap of the pen.
The cap is threaded, it unscrews. You can post the pen. It's a pretty good size pen. It's got a nice, thick barrel. You can use the pen with or without it posted, whichever you prefer. I feel like the pen is big enough to use it without the cap posted.
This particular Noodler's Ink pen comes with a music style nib. You can see the two different ink channels. And a little bit broader point. This pen is filled by removing the grip section from the pen. It has this plunger style fill mechanism to fill the ink.
Noodler's Ink, they're a fairly inexpensive brand, but they make some really good pens. They're fun to write with. Get your Noodler's Ink Neponset Fountain Pen at PenChalet.com!

This is the Noodler's Ink Acrylic Neponset Fountain Pen. It comes in a white cardboard box. Noodlers Neponset Reviews
First time to use Noodler’s “Music Nib”. I really like it! Wide range of flex. The ebonite is beautifully patterned and matched in a very complimentary way. Have ordered two more colors! with music nib!

Cool pen! Very flexible nib. To me, it writes like a broad nib when not flexed.

I felt like Goldilocks when I purchased this pen. The first was too dry and would skip while writing. The second was too wet and bold to be practical for note-taking and writing. But the third one was just right. Gave me a fine-medium line when barely touching the page, then exploding to BBB when I laid on the pressure. Really an awesome pen once you find the one you like. Ebonite is an interesting material too. Feels fragile to me, so I'm babying it in a pen case. Really great ink capacity if you use the Noodler's 308 cartridges with it. 2.7ml is a lot of ink for this gusher of a pen!

Ok, I LOVE this pen. The three tines make for a fabulous range of line width. Writing casually, I can get some nice hair-thin or thicker lines without having to push too hard at all - basically nice line variation easily with my natural writing pressure. Pushing much harder results in a fabulous thick line. It's almost like the nib is a metal paint brush. I think this is the closest thing to a dip pen nib you'll get in a fountain pen.
Occasionally the feeder will dry up, and I'll shake the pen downward over another sheet of paper until a drop of ink splashes out, to bring the flow back into it - I think it's because this thing is pushing the limit of what a feed can do for a fountain pen. Which I'm fine with, it works hassle-free like 90% of the time.
Good solid feel to the pen too. And the finish is beautiful, I got "Emeralds on the Sun". This has become my most-used pen, both for calligraphic writing and for drawing. $75 is a great price for an art tool of this quality.

Pen is beautifully made and writes very well. The music nib behaves well and is very smooth with a generous ink flow.

I bit pricey for an acrylic fountain pen. There is an odor though not as bad as the other Noodler’s fountain pen. The nib is stiff in my opinion so it doesn’t fles easily. What I like about this pen and the only reason I like it is it is really good with shimmering inks. I have it filled with Diamine shimmer inks. The nib has not given me any issues with shimmering inks.

Love this pen! Especially great for shimmer inks as it really puts down the ink so you can really see the shimmer - writes really wet and flowing! Obviously, quality of the paper matters, but truly one of my favorite pens! I have two of them, Carpathian and Olde Salem - both are really works of art with depth and richness of colors. Many folks say they have to "tinker" with the Noodler's pens to get them to work correctly, but I have these as well as several Ahabs and Konrads and all have been perfect right out of the box and all work really beautifully with the shimmer inks. Very happy with my Noodler's Pens and Pen Chalet's customer service is always top notch!
