About the Esterbrook Estie Oversized
The Esterbrook Estie fountain pen is a modern collection from the iconic Esterbrook brand. Estie, a modern day for Esterbrook, has a clean and understated design with a ringless center and sleek narrow pocket clip.
Fitted with a modern #6 German JOWO nib, the Estie can also accept a vintage Esterbrook steel nib with the addition of the MV adapter. The pen uses a cartridge converter fill system and has a cushion cap closure.
All About the Scribe Nib:
Esterbrook's new Scribe nib is created in New York by a nibmaker by the name of Josh Lax. The Scribe fountain pen nib is similar to an architect nib; ground into a wedge for broad cross-strokes paired with narrow downstrokes.
Note: Specialty nibs such as the Journaling or Scribe are custom grinds and take longer on special orders for delivery.

The oversized pen comes in black only, with either chrome or gold trim. This happens to be the gold trim, so it has a gold clip and a gold Esterbrook logo engraved and filled on the pen. The pen is made of resin and it has a cigar shape. Good sized pen with a threaded cap that unscrews. It does have a little bit of a compression cap, to keep the ink nice and fresh. You can post the pen, although since it is an oversized pen you do not need to for this particular pen.
Matching color threads where the cap screws on and then a matching gold color stainless steel nib, or a chrome nib, for the chrome color trim. Black feed on the pen. It is a cartridge converter style pen so you can unscrew the section from the barrel of the pen. They will include a standard international ink converter, as well as an ink cartridge for the pen. That was under the false bottom of the box.
A nice feature about the Esterbrook Estie is that it can accept vintage nibs by replacing the section of the pen with the MV adapter. It allows you to use vintage nibs, either one that you have, or we have an option where you can purchase the adapter with a vintage nib included as well. Great feature about the pen, where you can use both modern and the vintage nibs with it as well.

I was a little worried that this pen might be too big for me, but it wasn’t. Despite it’s size it doesn’t feel heavy in the hand like some pens I own. I bought the lilac and it’s really pretty. Even though it’s a stainless steel nib, it writes smoothly and with little to no feedback. As for Pen Chalet, well they packed it nicely, shipped it quickly.
