About Black Conklin Sleeve Filler
Part of the Conklin Heritage collection, The Conklin Sleeve Filler is a recreation of the classic Conklin fountain pen. The Heritage collection pays tribute to the Conklin Pen Company founder Roy Conklin. These pen designs are reminiscent of the original designs from the golden age of fountain pens but add today's technology.
The Conklin Sleeve Filler fountain pen comes with a vacuum sac fill mechanism. The Sleeve Filler is designed with a pressure bar surrounding the size of the vacuum sac. As the pressure bar is compressed and then released while the nib is submerged in the ink bottle the sac fills with ink. To access the sac the barrel of the pen is unscrewed.
Each Conklin Sleeve Filler fountain pen comes with a German made stainless steel nib in either fine, medium or stub sizes. The cap showcases a chrome clip with the Conklin logo engraved.

Each Conklin Sleeve Filler Fountain Pens we sell is guaranteed to be genuine, authentic and will arrive brand new & unused!
Included with the pen, is information about Conklin, the use and care guide and warranty. And of course, we have the Conklin Sleeve Filler fountain pen. This is the grey swirl version. It has that beautiful, shinny glossy resin. You can see the shimmering pattern within the resin itself. And it has chrome-colored accents. You can see the chrome clip with the Conklin logo engraved into the clip. I really like the operation of the Conklin clips, because they open nice, wide, and really easy. And then it has a thick chrome band at the bottom of the cap, a large viewing window there, where you can see the filler mechanism on the inside, same shimmering resin on the barrel, has a slight taper with a rounded end. And then on the barrel of the pen is engraved "Sleeve Filler. Made In Italy." Conklin pens are now made in Italy.
The pen has a cap that screws off and can be posted. It has the same resin on the section of the pen and it has the Conklin nib, "Conklin. Toledo, USA" engraved on it. You can see the breather hole there, it's shaped like the crescent moon, the Conklin Logo, and it has the feed there on the back side of the nib.
To fill this Sleeve Filler fountain pen, you unscrew the back section of the barrel, and it has a small, sac style filler. You compress the sac, and dip the pen nib in the ink bottle, and then release this sac, and that will draw ink into the pen. Really, kind of a unique design, the way the barrel comes off. It doesn't come all the way off. It just stops there, so it allows you to access the filler mechanism.
I really love the resin that they used on this pen. It's just a great looking pen. Get your Conklin Sleeve Filler fountain pen at PenChalet.com!

Conklin Sleeve Filler Video Script
This is the Conklin Sleeve Filler fountain pen. The pen comes in a large, blue, faux leather box. On the top of the box lid, is the Conklin logo embossed in gold, with some other gold lines running around the exterior of the box. The corners, as you can see on the box here, are chamfered, and it has a hinge style lid with a soft, tan fabric interior. On the other side of the lid, once again, that Conklin logo is printed in gold.Included with the pen, is information about Conklin, the use and care guide and warranty. Conklin Sleeve Filler Reviews
The first one I had had a defect in the section. Pen Chalet replaced the pen immediately. This one works great. Once you get the hang of the bladder, it's a fun pen. The bladder can hold more ink than you might think. It's a nice looking pen for the office and desk and look great too.

Old and novel fountain pen design / mechanism. The latex filling squeeze ballon will eventually require replacement. Keep it in mind. Conklin is a known pen company with a record of good quality. Still these pens are better picked up on sale.

fun pen, but the nib gave me a lot of trouble. I own a Conklin All American, which has a well-functioning nib, and since I'm new to this hobby and have only had pens that work right out the box, it was a struggle for me to figure out what to make of this nib. It had hard starts and skips, but I didn't (at the time) own a loupe so I couldn't say for certain that the cause was misalignment or the dreaded "baby's bottom." On another site, I picked up a bunch of tuning supplies and got to work on the pen. Though it took a few hours, it was fun to learn about the different ways to tune a nib. In the end, I got it working. it's now the slickest nib in my collection.
One more thing: I'm not a fan of the bulb filler (I thought it would be fun, but it's a drag), so I removed it (it screws off both top and bottom) and replaced it with a cartridge converter. As a plus, I can now see the ink through the clear section (with the bulb filler in place, all one sees is the stainless steel of the filling mechanism--something that others have pointed out and is an obvious missed opportunity). With the ink visible in the cartridge, it's now a much more interesting pen to look at.

I am glad this brand did not go away...I really like the way they write. I like the vintage look and feel to the various Conklin pens. And you can't beat the great deals you get here at Pen Chalet.
