Conklin Nozac Video Script

This is the Conklin Nozac fountain pen. It comes in a blue, faux leather box with gold stitching and the Conklin logo embossed in gold on the the top of the box lid. Hinge-style lid, which lifts open. It has a tan velvet interior with the Conklin logo, once again, embossed in gold on the underside of the box lid.

False bottom to the box. Inside is information about Conklin and the warranty and use and care guide for the pen as well. And of course, we have the Conklin Nozac fountain pen. It has multi-faceted sides with a slight taper to the barrel, so it's a little thinner at the end. Silver chrome-colored trim on the pen. Chrome-colored finial on the very end of the cap with the Conklin logo embossed into the clip of the pen. Basic design with a small spring hinge that makes it real easy to open that clip to slide into your pocket. The resin on the pen has a multi-colored swirled design with a bit of pearlized as well. And a chrome-colored end on the very end of the barrel.

The cap is a magnetic catch. It just slides on and off and can be posted nicely on the end of the barrel of the pen. Matching silver chrome-colored section on the pen with a two-tone stainless steel nib, and a black feed on the pen. This is a piston-style fountain pen, so to fill the ink on the pen, there's a small knob here on the end you can actually twist, which draws the ink into the pen. Good design, great pen. Great "old feel" fountain pen, and I know that "feel". Great looks, super nib! Love Pen Chalet, it wasn't my 1st order and it sure won't be my last!

I bought several Conklin pens when they were on sale. I recently got around to using the Nozac and was pleasantly surprised with the look of the acrylic and the build quality (for the price). The pen writes smoothly and fills relatively easily (the turn knob is a bit small). The pen is on the smaller side, so if you have small hands, this will be a good addition to your collection.

Looks nice. However, the magnetic cap is not a solution; I would rather prefer a srew cap. The Omniflex nib is a typical marketing scam -- to flex the nib, even for a tiny flexing movement, I feel that I was running the risk of damaging it. I have no use for this pen and would not recommend it.

I have acquired two of these fountain pens, the Toledo Red and the Ohio Blue. I can't evaluate them yet because I haven't used them: they are Christmas gifts and I haven't wanted to ink them. In hand they both look very good, showy and well finished. They are not excessively heavy, considering their metallic interior. And their price, truly reduced, made them even more attractive. I hope they will work according to appearances.

This is a rather nice pen with nice features. Starting with the magnet closing cap. Just pull for release, and gently press back into place with a reassuring click. The clip is a marvel. It is held onto the cap via a pivot. Just press down on the back side of the clip, and it opens up just right to put into a pocket.

The nib is large and made from stainless steel and writes smoothly. The body and cap are of an eight sided resin. The design is of colors that have been blended into an interesting pattern. Like most recent Conklin pens this one can use either a converter or international ink cartridges.

This pen has been manufactured in Italy.

I love my Conklin Nozac. So far I have rated it a "7" or "8". Sometimes it feels perfect. But othertimes it will skip. When I push up the ink, however, it gets better. It has its own personality. One minute it can be writing flawlessly , while other times the ink flow needs to be improved. I'm glad I bought the pen, however, because the price was right.

Such a pretty pen! I got the stub nib, but kind of wish I had gotten a fine or medium point because the stub is wider than I had anticipated. Magnetic cap closure is a nice feature.

There is a lot to say about this pen, some good, some great and some not so good. I'll base what I have to say about the pen considering my cost as the pen was purchased at a great sale price. It comes with the usual Conklin blue box which really is pretty nice. So presentation is definitely a plus. Once you move the inevitable paperwork and cards, you see your pen in its pillow and now you really have something. It honestly looks like shaped marble and carries the same kind of weight. Absolutely nothing lacking in looks, the polish is exquisite. The magnetic capping is secure but does allow the cap to turn when capped. Not an issue for me but some may find that a bit worrisome. The section is chromed metal and may be slippery for some, for my purposes it's OK but if weight and a slippery section are not for you, this may not fit your bill. The chrome finial at the barrels end is the turning knob for the enclosed piston filling system. Being small and angled and slippery has given me a bit of trouble so it can be a drawback. Another thing, the piston filler in this pen may hold a bit more than a cartridge of ink, that's it. The shape of the barrel dictates this so there is no getting around it. The section does not detach so issues with the piston would require a major repair or replacement. Then there is the #6 Conklin nib. Your mileage may vary. It's tolerable when tuned but seems to have an ink allergy. As to whether this has the newer Jowo nib, I don't know but I was prepared to have a stinker nib any way. The pen is spectacular in looks and feel, there really isn't much to compare it to under several hundred dollars. At a sale price, this could make for some serious eye candy. Performance is a bit sketchier. Not an EDC but as a collectible, that's different.

Great poison filler. Like the magnetic cap design and it works on paying too. Great bang for the buck. Wish the flex nib was more flexible.
