About the Conklin Herringbone Series

Etched with a herringbone chasing pattern, the Conklin Herringbone Series fountain pen adds vintage appeal. Reminiscent of older pens created by Conklin, the herringbone pattern is achieved by using a very precise computerized engraving machine to cut the Guilloché on airplane-grade aluminum barrel and cap. A relief of the "Conklin Est. 1898" logo is atop the coin on the cap. The Herringbone series is engraved on the back of the crown. The clip is engraved with the Conlkin logo. Surrounded by four Conklin crescent shapes, the center ring is engraved with the Conklin "C".

The Conklin Herringbone Series fountain pen in Yellow with black trim is paired with a black stainless steel #6 nib, and is a limited edition color release limited to 288 pens.

The Conklin Herringbone Series fountain pen is available with a flexible stainless steel nib and a cartridge converter fill system.

Conklin Herringbone Series Video Script

This is the Conklin Herringbone Fountain Pen. It comes in a blue faux leather box with the Conklin logo in gold embossed on the box lid. There's also gold stitching on both the top and sides of the box. Hinge style lid which lifts open. It has a tan color felt interior with the Conklin logo embossed on the underside of the box lid. Included with the pen is information about Conklin and a warranty, use and care guide.

Also, under the false bottom of the box is two standard international cartridges for the pen. And, of course, we have the Conklin Herringbone Fountain Pen. This pen has a metal cap and barrel, chrome-colored trim on the pen, and various colors on the cap and barrel with a wave style pattern that is etched into the cap and barrel of the pen. On the ends of the pen, just a rounded torpedo shape on both the bottom of the barrel and top the cap. The clip has the Conklin logo engraved on it with the traditional Conklin style clip. That lifts open fairly easily, but some of the other pens have a spring on the end of the clip where you push down for easier use, but this one does not have that design.

The Conklin Herringbone is engraved around the ring on the cap of the pen. It has a threaded cap that can be posted on the pen. It also has a chrome-colored section on the pen with a stainless steel matching chrome-colored nib engraved with Conklin Toledo, USA. The section unscrews and inside is a ink converter for the pen, if you want to use bottled inks. It can also use the standard international cartridges as well. Conklin is a great brand and a great pen. Get your Conklin Herringbone Fountain at PenChalet.com!

This is the Conklin Herringbone Fountain pen which comes in the traditional faux blue leather Conklin box. On the top of the box is the Conklin logo in gold embossing. The box has a hinged top. Inside is some additional ink cartridges which are included with the pen. There's also some information about the pen. There are some refill instructions and some information about how you can register your pen.

This is the purple version of the pen. Conklin has recently redesigned this pen and has come out with some new colors with black accents to them. This is the purple, there is also a yellow, and a new orange color.

We have on these black accents a black clip with the Conklin logo on the clip. On the top of the pen is the Conklin logo established 1898. On the ring is a Conklin C with some crescent moons along the ring. The cap is etched with herringbone on the top. The cap can be unscrewed and posted onto the pen.

This pen has black accents as well as a black nib. The nib section of the barrel can be removed simply by unscrewing it. This pen also comes with a converter if you'd rather use traditional fountain pen ink out of a bottle and refill it that way. Or you can use the cartridge that comes with it, or you can use other cartridges if you want to use a different color.

Conklin has really done a great job with the re-design. It's a beautiful pen. Get yours today at PenChalet.com

A "flashy" pen. The gun metal trim and nib looks great with the yellow herringbone body. It writes smooth.

Seriously love this particular Conklin. Have some other Conklin pens I used once and put away, never to use again. THIS ONE gets used! Good looking (I got the orange), good balance and feels good in hand. Good nib and about the only 'neg' is that the cap sometimes doesn't want to stay posted. The pen stays wet, even if it sits for a week and ink flow (fine) nib is consistent and good. Especially like the black nib that comes with the orange version. Sexy!

WOW. One of the first pens I longed for and waited and waited. Then it went on sale and I had to jump on it. I am sorry i waited. The pen is amazing. Perfectly weighted, stylish, fancy, just overall beautiful. Writes like a dream out of the box. Beautiful desk accessory but so much better to write with. Shipping and customer service was AWESOME, as always. Thanks Pen Chalet for another overly satisfied order.

I love the weight and feel of this pen. It feels wonderful to write with.

I do not like the cap. I returned the first pen because the cap practically bounced off the barrel when I tried to park it. The replacement is better, but I would not call the cap secure. It falls off easily. I have only kept the second pen in hopes that it will "wear in" since everything else about the pen is such a joy.

While I already made a review about this pen that showed my appreciation of it I thought I would add the following. The Fine nib is not that "fine". The ink flow is problematic. It leaves a blot of ink at the end of every letter. It also skips at the start of some taller letters when writing sentences. NO matter how lightly I press when writing it gave me problems. So - I order an EF nib and that seems to have solve all of my problems. If you are considering purchasing this pen my recommendation is to go with the EF nib. The difference in stroke width is very minor, but the improvements are major.

Have had my Herringbone for 2 days now and am quite happy with it. It is a quality pen, with a good heft to it. Seems to be all metal with a spectacular outer finish. The chrome bits are brilliantly bright and the color of my red herringbone is quite nice.

I bought the Fine nib and while it seems to write with a bit of hesitation, I'll get used to that. The cap screws on easily and takes only 1 complete turn. A bit on the heavy side when posted, so I don't recommend that unless you have bigger hands than I do. One thing I would point out is if you are not familiar with the Conklin nib sizes the Fine nib is a bit broader than the Fine nibs I have used in the past from Monteverde and Montegrappa so you may want an Extra Fine one if you want a fine line.

For $56 you can't beat this pen. Will look great in anyone's shirt pocket.
