The Conklin Coronet fountain pen features a minimalist design with a high gloss metallic finish. The barrel is made of solid brass and cap of stainless steel and then coated with vibrant lacquers. Fitted with a stainless steel nib and a cartridge converter filling system.

And, of course, we have the Conklin Coronet fountain pen. This happens to be the olive color. They all have silver trim with the traditional Conklin shape clip that has the Conklin logo engraved into the clip. A plain silver top on the cap to match with a silver ring at the center of the pen. The cap just pulls of the section, so it is just a snap compression cap. Snaps on. Snaps off. It will post on the end of the pen, as well.
There is "Coronet" engraved on the backside in a black color, as well, on the cap. Matching silver section with the rest of the pen and a stainless steel silver nib with a black feed. Since it is a cartridge converter pen, the section unscrews. And there is an ink converter included with the pen for use of bottle inks, as well.

Conklin Coronet Video Script
This is the Conklin Coronet fountain pen. The pen comes in a blue cardboard sleeve that slides off with a blue leatherette Conklin box. The Conklin logo is embossed on the top of the lid and gold stitching to match around the edges. It is a hinged style lid on the top of the box which lifts open. with the Conklin logo embossed in gold on the underside of the box lid. Included with the pen is warranty information. The pen sits on a false bottom and two standard international ink cartridges are included to get you started with the pen.And, of course, we have the Conklin Coronet fountain pen. Got this on sale last month for a great price (hooray for Fountain Pen Day!). I chose the Turquoise Coronet in Fine. The finish is a bit sparkly and really quite gorgeous. The pen feels well balanced (unposted) and has an effortless and pleasant snap closure. The ink flow is easy and generous. A real pleasure to write with, and not too heavy for a metal pen. I don't normally like shiny slick grip sections, so a piece of colorful washi tape (placed so as not to interfere with the closure) now adorns my new pen. I'm really enjoying using it and I think this would actually make a great intro to fountain pens for any newbie.

I bought the Coronet with the black finish and a fine nib, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that the actual pen has subtle sparkles in the finish that are not visible in the photos. It is a very handsome pen. As to functionality, I never write with a pen's cap posted, and so I cannot speak to the feel of the pen when posted, but I find the heft of the pen unposted quite pleasing. The diameter of the gripping section I would say is average. The fine nib is about the same width as a Parker or Waterman fine nib, that is, not as fine as a Japanese fine (such as Pilot or Sailor), but finer than, say, a Lamy fine. I have it filled with Diamine's "majestic purple" ink, and I have had no trouble with skips even when making the fastest pen strokes. The price of the pen, combined with its performance, makes it quite a bargain.

This pen surprised me because I wasn't expecting the weight. I like a heavier pen and this one is balanced well. Wish it had a different size nib but it writes well. A very nice pen.

Bought this pen on sale on National Fountain Pen Day. It is the first pen I have used with a broad nib. Though not the best for everyday note taking due to feathering and bleeding through paper I really do enjoy writing with this pen. I use it with rust colored ink and it is so pretty on the right paper. I highly recommend it.

Conklin rainbow crescent notwithstanding, I think this is my favorite pen out of today's shipments. I didn't expect it to be slightly sparkly turquoise, but it's just that, and it's lovely. It's not too heavy or too light, too big or too small for my hands. It has a nice feel to it.
