Ice cream parlor menus everywhere offered egg creams, malts, milkshakes, and the ice cream sundae, summer's most classic of treats. The vanilla ice cream, homemade hot fudge, sprinkling of peanuts followed by a swirl of whipped cream wasn't complete unless there was a cherry on top.
