Customer Reviews
I keep a daily journal and use a different fountain pen and ink every week. This week it is the Monteverde Luna fine point with Visconti Blue. For every pen and ink I use, I mark off part of a Col-O-Ring card and make a color swab of the ink I am using. I also write the date of the first day of week I am using the pen and ink. Then I list the ink by brand and color. Below the ink information, I list the pen by brand, model, color and nib size. After I use the combination for a week, I have enough space on the card to comment briefly on the pen and the ink. When I fan the Col-O-ring cards out, I can see the wide variety of pens and inks I have used. I can learn useful information from reviewing the cards such as a particular ink might work better in a pen with a broader nib because it is too pale for a narrow nib or even that I did not care for a certain pen and ink and probably would not use either again on a regular basis. Even though, I am only part way through my week with the Luna and the Visconti Blue, I would definitely use both again and will certainly keep using the Col-o-ring cards.

I love this to keep track of all of the ink I purchase. I would love though if it were a pure clean white so I can see what the inks look like as I feel that on an ivory or ecru it diminishes the true color. Overall I will buy this again as my ink supplies grow.

These are wonderful. I finally have a place where I can catalog ink swatches with not only a blob of color but also a writing sample. This will keep me from purchasing inks that are the same. I can also use different nibs to see how the color looks. I can include nib sizes, pen brand, and ink color/brand. You can fit a lot on the tiny card. I'm going to try and squeeze in the date too! What is scary is, how many of these will I need???

Exactly what I needed to have ANOTHER way to index my inks. (Note: I may have too many inks, and too many different ink indices.) #NoRegrets

You need this. Sure, it starts off with a few colors, but then you keep adding to your growing ink collection and next thing you know, you need your swatches. I'm on my third one and will need to buy more. If you have pen friends, this would make a lovely and practical small gift.

These work OK for color ink "swatches samples". If you put too much ink on them, the paper starts to come apart. I still have yet to acquire a Rolodex to hold them in. I have them in a "3 x 5" container (for 3" x 5" index cards) and though it works, the cards are too small to be able to pluck them out quickly to see what a color looks like. Need a Rolodex.
The cards provide plenty of space to put a spot of ink on and a label as such. Plus, there are lots of cards.

Excellent paper, comfortable and simple way to look up and compare colours. I actually just filled up my first one and should really buy a new one...

I love this tool to track my fountain pen ink. It's good to be able to see what the ink looks like on paper, because sometimes it's deceptive in the bottle. I also use it to track what I've got in the bottle by removing the card when I run out of the ink. The size is good and it's handy. Rarely, an ink will feather when it won't on my writing papers.

These ink testing rings are invaluable for sampling inks. The size is perfect to paint or swab on a large color swatch along with writing in the name of the ink and the paper used is high quality which renders a good color sample. I used to keep mine on the ring, but now that I have over 400 samples (!), I keep them in a three-ring binder using transparent baseball-card holders to organize by color.

Cool way to store your ink colors.
I probably have too many ink bottles already, now I got to buy ink samples to fill my col-o-ring LOL.

I thought these would help separate my Col-o-dex rotary cards in my old rolodex. They work great and I love having a reference of all my inks on hand. It is a good product and Pen Chalet usually has this item reduced.

I decided to get these rotary cards for an old rolodex file I had used. All the original rotary cards left inside the rolodex turned yellow. I was happy to empty it and replace these rotary cards. I now ink and file fountain pen inks,
dip pen inks, brush pen inks and Watercolor paint. The quality of these tabs are really good. They remind me of good quality watercolor paper. This is my second set of rotary cards. Pen Chalet also has a discount price on these:-)

Very good for keeping track of my ink collection and for choosing what ink to use. I like being able to see what the ink looks like dry before filling a pen with it.
