Each year Caran d'Ache creates an emblematic 849. This year the Caran d'Ache 849 Line Friends ballpoint pen has been created by Line, Asia's largest instant messaging network.

The Caran d’Ache + Line Friends limited edition comes in two colors of the 849 ballpoint pen. Designed with characters of the Line network: BROWN, the little bear with a big heart, and BT21, the K-Pop group founded by TATA, a curious little alien who crashed on Earth – inspired by the Korean music group, BTS.

The brown model is dark brown and the button is decorated with a drop of resin to show the bear's face. The eight members of the music group, BT21, adorn the body of the red version of the pen as well as the slim pack it comes with.

Like all Caran d'Ache 849 ballpoint pens, the Line Friends comes with a lightweight hexagonal aluminum body. The brown has a stain finish while the red is a gloss. Each features a metal button and a flexible steel clip. The pens come with a Caran d’Ache Goliath fine black ink refill.
