Dominant Industry is a small batch ink maker from Korea. They have three ink series currently available, but this week’s featured ink is from their Standard Series. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
All About This Week\u2019s Chosen Ink: Dominant Industry Leaf Green Ink<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Dominant Industry Leaf Green ink is a beautiful dark tropical green ink that shows up very dark on paper. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Herbin spiral glass dip pen<\/a> (with a tip comparable to a medium-fine fountain pen nib) on Rhodia bloc pad paper. (Remember as you read this review that different papers or different nib sizes may produce different results!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Dominant Industry Leaf Green ink comes in their fantastic droplet bottle. The heavy-weighted 25ml glass bottle is display quality and comes inside a drawstring bag to protect the ink during shipping. The bagged ink is then placed inside a cardboard box with a classic black-on-white label that gives a pleasing finished look while keeping the necessary info easily accessible and easy to read. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Dominant Industry Leaf Green ink (and all the Dominant Industry Standard ink series inks) are a very reasonably priced mid-range priced ink for a 25 ml size imported fountain pen ink. Shop for the current best prices at PenChalet.com. <\/p>\n\n\n\n We use the 1-dip test to see how far one dip can write on paper (dipping the pen into the ink only once). Leaf Green ink very easily wrote across the paper on all three writing samples with lots of ink to spare. (Using only one dip per writing sample \u201cS\u201d \u201cX\u201d and scribble lines, see the image above).<\/p>\n\n\n\n During our Dominant Industry Leaf Green ink review, we saw a dry time of approximately 6-7 seconds with medium saturation, so we\u2019d feel comfortable recommending this as a great everyday green ink choice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n We saw very slight bleeding during normal use. We also saw slight bleeding during the heavy saturated cotton swab test (but only at the wettest points).<\/p>\n\n\n\n We saw no feathering during normal use on Rhodia paper, and just some very slight feathering during the water test (which is expected for non-waterproof ink).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Dominant Industry Leaf Geen ink is not meant to be waterproof, but we put it to the test anyway. For the water test we let our ink sample dry for about 3 minutes before we run a wet cotton swab over the sample to observe the effect. Here are the results we saw during today\u2019s review:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Dominant Industry Leaf Green ink showed some nice shading possibilities. If you’re looking for shading, just take advantage of the right nib (and your penmanship will also make a difference in the shading of the ink). <\/p>\n\n\n\n Dominant Industry Leaf Green ink is a reasonably priced ink for the 25ml imported bottle size. We enjoyed the nice, dark leaf green color (it’s not your typical forest green). With an approx. 6-7 second dry time and nice shading possibilities, this green ink is a fun choice for an everyday ink. Dominant Industry inks are made in Korea (and this ink company is fairly new to the industry). Their inks have been well-liked so far, and their ink bottle and packaging is a huge hit – we admit – we can’t get enough of that droplet-shaped glass ink bottle.
