If you aren&#8217;t familiar with Arizona, throughout the spring, summer and early fall, scorpions come out at night. Under the beam of a florescent light scorpions glow, but normally they&#8217;re a yellow, golden-brown (somewhat translucent) color.\n\nComing across a scorpion unexpectedly can be terrifying, but most experienced Arizonans accept them as just another part of the beautiful Arizona landscape; long-time residents may even develop an appreciation and find seeing one exciting&#8230;as long as they&#8217;re doing so from a safe distance. Scorpion ink very easily wrote across the paper on all three writing samples with lots of ink to spare. (Using only one dip per writing sample &#8220;S&#8221; &#8220;X&#8221; and scribble lines, see the image above).\n\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:heading -->\n<h2>How Fast Does Robert Oster Scorpion Ink Dry?<\/h2>\n<!-- \/wp:heading -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n\nDuring our ink review, Pen Chalet Exclusive Robert Oster Scorpion ink showed a dry time of approximately 6-7 seconds with medium saturation, which is a very reasonable dry time, and acceptable for an everyday ink.\n\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:heading -->\n<h2>Does This Week&#8217;s Fountain Pen Ink Bleed Through?<\/h2>\n<!-- \/wp:heading -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n\nWe saw no bleeding during normal use on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.penchalet.com\/pen_accessories\/memo_books_notebooks\/rhodia_notebooks\/\">Rhodia dot pad paper<\/a>. However, there was a slight amount of bleeding during the heavy saturated cotton swab test (but only at the wettest points).\n\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:heading -->\n<h2>Was There Any Feathering During the Scorpion Ink Review?<\/h2>\n<!-- \/wp:heading -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n\nWe saw no feathering during normal use, and just some very slight feathering during the water test.\n\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:heading -->\n<h2>How Does the Ink Stand Up to Water?<\/h2>\n<!-- \/wp:heading -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n\nRobert Oster Scorpion ink is not meant to be waterproof, but we put it to the test anyway. For the water test we let our ink sample dry for about 3 minutes before we run a wet cotton swab over the sample to observe the effect. Here are the results we saw during today&#8217;s review:\n\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:list -->\n<ul>\n \t<li>Very light color smearing<\/li>\n \t<li>Lines still very legible<\/li>\n \t<li>Almost no distortion or line fading<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<!-- \/wp:list -->\n\n<!-- wp:heading -->\n<h2>Does Robert Oster Scorpion Ink Have Good Shading Traits?<\/h2>\n<!-- \/wp:heading -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n\nRobert Oster Scorpion ink showed some fantastic shading possibilities &#8211; particularly with the right penmanship and a nib that allows for line variation. We saw from a dark, golden brown to a lighter, almost dark yellow shade.\n<h2>Final Conclusion on Robert Oster Scorpion Ink:<\/h2>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n\nRobert Oster Scorpion ink is a reasonably priced ink that comes in the standard 50ml PET plastic ink bottle. The nice, dark golden-brown color shows up well on paper with nice shading traits, and a good dry time of 6-7 seconds. The ink is made by Robert Oster, a prolific Australian ink company. The company is known for their minimalistic packaging (no extra packaging means no extra waste).
