Herbin spiral glass dip pen<\/a>&nbsp;(with a tip comparable to a medium-fine fountain pen nib) on French-made Rhodia dot pad paper. As always, we want to remind you that different papers or different nib sizes may produce different results!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What Sort of Ink Bottle Does 3 Oysters Use?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The 3 Oysters Peacock Blue ink comes in a unique mid-sized 38 ml. heavy weighted glass bottle. (In my opinion &#8211; easily one of the coolest bottles on the market today!) The bottle displays nicely, is heavy weighted, and is designed with one corner &#8220;missing&#8221; to allow the bottle to lean on that edge at a lean to allow writers and artists to more easily get in to grab up those last few precious drops of ink. The 3 Oysters Delicious inks have a nice presentation with a professional label (in both English and Korean) with the ink color clearly highlighted on the box. The interior packaging is simple, but professional and efficient. It&#8217;s very well done overall. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How Much Do 3 Oysters Delicious Fountain Pen Inks Cost?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>3 Oysters Delicious fountain pen inks are available with a reasonable price tag for such a unique and interesting Korean based company. Look for the best prices at PenChalet.com. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How Did This Week&#8217;s Ink Fair in the 1-Dip Test?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We use the 1-dip test to see how far one dip can write on paper (dipping the pen into the ink only once). 3 Oysters Peacock Blue ink very easily wrote across the paper on all three writing samples with ink to spare. (Using only one dip per writing sample &#8220;S&#8221; &#8220;X&#8221; and scribble lines, see the image above).\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How Fast Does the 3 Oysters Peacock Blue Ink Dry?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>3 Oysters Peacock Blue fountain pen ink had a very reasonable dry time (approx. 6 seconds) with medium saturation, which is quick enough for an everyday ink. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Does This Week&#8217;s Fountain Pen Ink Bleed Through?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We saw no bleeding during normal use on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.penchalet.com\/pen_accessories\/memo_books_notebooks\/rhodia_notebooks\/\">Rhodia dot pad paper<\/a>. And there was only very slight bleeding during the heavy saturated cotton swab test.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Was There Any Feathering While Using 3 Oysters Peacock Blue? <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We saw no feathering during normal use, and only very slight additional feathering during the water test.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How Does the Ink Stand Up to Water?&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>3 Oysters Peacock Blue ink is not waterproof (although, according to the ink&#8217;s performance during our review &#8211; it almost is!) During the review, we tested how the ink stood up to water using our standard water test. We let the ink sample dry for about 3 minutes for our standard test and then ran a wet cotton swab over the sample. We saw a dark color smear (which is typical for a dark colored ink), but the lines were very legible and we didn&#8217;t see much distortion or fading at all. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Does 3 Oysters Peacock Blue Ink Have Good Shading and Sheening Traits?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This week&#8217;s ink showed some nice possible shading traits. If you&#8217;re seeking shading traits, use a nib that allows ink flow variation, like a stub or italic nib. For example, we saw a dark turquoise-black color to a lighter (yet dark) deep-sea color. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Final Conclusion on 3 Oysters Peacock Blue Ink:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This week&#8217;s ink comes with a pretty nice (and by nice I mean reasonable) price point. The color is a very unique blue with a nice range of turquoise-black and dark turquoise blue colors for those seeking shading possibilities. The reasonable dry time, combined with the color make this a great choice for an everyday ink. Made by a South Korean ink company, the inks are packaged in a unique 38ml heavy weight, display-quality ink bottle. The 3 Oysters Delicious ink series brings another high performance ink safe for fountain pens to the table.
