Today’s guest reviewer is Melyssa Naujoks (aka @acourtofwingsandjournals<\/a>). Melyssa is an art journaler, a huge fan of pens, inks and paints, and a lover of all things purple. She’s also on a quest for the perfect purple ink (this quest is potentially never-ending and she’s okay with that). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Pen Maker: Benu Pens<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Benu<\/a> is a Russian pen manufacturer operating out of Moscow. The team of Benu designers has a history of coming up with unusual designs full of character. In most cases, a Benu pen design is automatically recognizable (even after just a short glance). Benu uses high quality resins in a wide array of colors with glossy or pearlescent finishes. This Russian pen designer makes each resin separately to increase the one-of-a-kind appearance of their finished designs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Product Sent Out for Review: Benu Briolette Fountain Pen<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Benu Briolette fountain pen has long facets the length of the pen’s body. The facets highlight the gorgeous resin used for these pens AND keep the pen in place when it’s set down (no worries about the pen rolling away mid-project if you give it a little freedom). Each Benu Briolette has a unique color variation, but you can get a good look at the Benu Briolette Melyssa reviewed here. The Benu Briolette is 5.7″ capped and weighs .69 oz. The pen is a cartridge converter (compatible with standard international ink converters and ink cartridges) and is fitted with a stainless steel nib. Each pen comes with a standard international ink converter and one standard international ink cartridge included. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I’m pleasantly surprised by the Benu Briolette<\/a>. I wasn\u2019t sure if I\u2019d like it because of the size and shape. But it\u2019s been comfortable to write with. I love that it\u2019s a smaller size so it doesn\u2019t feel giant in my hands. I\u2019ve been favoring pocket pens lately and even though when capped it\u2019s not necessarily small, it can\u2019t be posted (at least not securely) so it feels small when writing. But it uses standard international cartridges\/converter so you’re not losing any ink capacity (as is often the case when you prefer a pocket pen).” -Melyssa Naujoks <\/p>\n\n\n\n
