A few weeks ago, we introduced one of two new Krishna inks, Krishna Mumbai fountain pen ink.&nbsp; This week\u2019s review is the second ink color in Krishna\u2019s new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.penchalet.com\/ink_refills\/fountain_pen_ink\/krishna_india_series_fountain_pen_ink.html\">India Ink Series<\/a>:&nbsp; Dilli. The Krishna inks have been particularly difficult to get of late (due to Covid-19 and related shipping and receiving issues), so we&#8217;re beyond excited to have it in stock! Plus, Krishna Dilli ink has some exciting characteristics we think you&#8217;ll enjoy hearing about&#8230;so double the excitement around here for this recent fountain pen ink release. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">All About the Ink Maker: Krishna<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.penchalet.com\/krishna\/\">Krishna inks<\/a> were created by Dr. Sreekumar, a medical doctor by day and ink connoisseur by night. (In between he also happens to be a master nib grinder). Dr. Sreekumar is passionate about  creating inks in varying styles that offer different traits. So it&#8217;s not surprising that the Krishna ink lineup includes a wide variety of inks (regular, sheening, basic, iron gall, etc.) Krishna Inks currently offers over 70 ink colors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">All About the Ink Series: Krishna India Ink Series<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Krishna Dilli ink is part of Krishna\u2019s India Ink Series (Recent Release!) The&nbsp;Krishna India Ink Series&nbsp;includes two new colors, named for two of the largest cities in India:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Krishna Mumbai Ink<\/li><li>Krishna Dilli Ink<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><br>The India ink series is the most recently released ink series from Krishna, but it&#8217;s not the only Krishna ink series we think you&#8217;re going to love (not by a long shot)! It&#8217;s not a dark mountain purple or a vibrant bright purple, but a true dusty purple color of ink that shows up well on paper. This ink is not too dark to SEEM black, but it&#8217;s also not too light.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>***In a hurry? Don\u2019t worry about a thing. Herbin spiral glass dip pen <\/a>on Rhodia dot pad paper.&nbsp; The dip pen has a tip that is similar to a fine-medium fountain pen nib.&nbsp; {Of note: different pens and paper may produce different results}.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Let\u2019s Talk About the Krishna Ink Bottle:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Krishna India Series inks are packaged in the small Standard Krishna Super Rich 20 ml. glass ink bottle. The new labeling and packaging used for the Krishna India Ink Series inks is simple and clear. Inks come in a very simple cardboard box; there&#8217;s not much internal production. Krishna inks used to come in basic corrugated cardboard packaging, but the new packaging features a white cardboard, which we find cleaner and simpler to read. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How Much Does Krishna Fountain Pen Ink Cost?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Krishna Dilli ink is an economical ink \u2013 costing just slightly more than the standard&nbsp;Super Rich Series of Krishna inks. As always, check for the current pricing at PenChalet.com.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How Did This Week\u2019s Ink Fair in the 1-Dip Test?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We applied a one dip test to see how far one dip could write on paper (dipping the pen into the ink only once). Krishna Dilli ink easily wrote across the paper on all three writing samples.&nbsp;(The pen was dipped in the ink just one time per writing sample:&nbsp; \u201cS\u201d \u201cX\u201d and scribble lines).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How Fast Does the Dilli Ink Dry?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Krishna Dilli Ink had a faster dry time than the Mumbai ink (previously reviewed ink from this same ink series). Dilli ink&#8217;s dry time was approximately 8-9 seconds with medium saturation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Does Krishna Dilli Ink Bleed Through?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>During the review, we saw no bleeding during normal use on Rhodia dot pad paper. There was also absolutely no bleed through during the cotton swab test. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Was There Any Feathering While Using Dilli Ink?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>During this week\u2019s review of Dilli ink, we saw no feathering during normal use, but we did see some slight feathering during water test.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How Does the Ink Stand Up to Water?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>During our review of Krishna Dilli ink we conducted a simple water test* where we let our ink sample dry for about 3 minutes before running a wet cotton swab over the writing sample.&nbsp; The results:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Some slight feathering<\/li><li>Lines remained legible and distinct<\/li><li>Some standard and typical color smearing running wet swab over ink sample<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>*Of Note: Dilli ink is not a waterproof ink.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What About Shading &amp; Sheening Traits?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Krishna\u2019s Dilli ink offers some nice shading possibilities with the right nib and penmanship. There&#8217;s also the possibility for a golden sheen with wet lines. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Final Conclusion on this Week\u2019s Featured Krishna Ink:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This week\u2019s ink was a nice, dark true -purple color with nice shading possibilities. Dilli ink is also priced economically and has a very reasonable dry time. The second ink from Krishna&#8217;s new India Series of inks, Dilli ink was inspired and named after one of India&#8217;s largest cities.
