We ran all our regular tests so you would have all the details you need to decide if you need this Penlux ink in your collection. Continue reading to get the full ink review.<\/p>\n As we said, this week, we reviewed Penlux M\u00d2 Tangerine fountain pen ink. While completing the review, we used a J Herbin spiral glass dip pen (which has a tip similar to a medium-fine fountain pen nib) on French-made Rhodia dot pad paper. We list products we used during our weekly ink reviews here because different papers and nib sizes often produce different results. Remember that as you consider our fountain pen ink reviews (and anyone\u2019s fountain pen ink reviews).<\/p>\n Penlux M\u00d2 Tangerine ink comes in a \u201cnew\u201d standard square 50 ml. Sailor ink bottle. The bottle is nice, heavy-weighted, and includes a simple label. The box the ink arrives in is fascinating. Origami-style, the box will lay completely flat then return to its original shape as a box to house your Penlux ink bottle. It\u2019s super cool, and we\u2019ll admit that we definitely want to hold on to this box simply because it amazes us over and over. (We do not doubt that you\u2019ll want to keep this box, too. It\u2019s just that cool).<\/p>\n Penlux M\u00d2 Tangerine ink is a high mid-range priced ink. Make sure to get the most economical price by taking advantage of discount pricing at Pen Chalet.<\/p>\n We put Penlux\u2019s M\u00d2 Tangerine fountain pen ink to the test with our newest standard review rest: the 1 Dip Test. We use this test to see how far one dip can write on paper (dipping the pen in ink only once). Penlux\u2019s M\u00d2 Tangerine ink easily wrote across the paper on all three writing samples. (We used one dip per writing sample). Writing samples included: S, X, and scribble lines (see the photograph of the samples above).<\/p>\n Penlux M\u00d2 Tangerine fountain pen ink had a dry time of approximately 5 seconds with medium saturation. The 5 second dry time is quite impressive. With this nice, quick dry time, we\u2019d recommend M\u00d2 Tangerine as an everyday home-office ink.<\/p>\n We saw no bleeding during the normal use of Penlux\u2019s M\u00d2 Tangerine fountain pen ink. There was some bleeding during the heavily saturated cotton swab test (at the wettest points).<\/p>\n We saw no feathering during normal use and some slight additional feathering during the water test.<\/p>\n Our weekly ink review\u2019s water test consists of letting the ink sample dry for about three minutes before running a wet cotton swab over the sample. This week\u2019s ink is not waterproof, but we put it to the water test anyway. (We tend to do that). During the water test, Penlux\u2019s M\u00d2 Tangerine ink only had light color smearing. The lines were still legible, but with some slight distortion.<\/p>\n Penlux M\u00d2 Tangerine ink has some possible shading traits if you\u2019re working with a nib that allows ink flow variation (like a stub or italic nib). In addition, to which type of nib you are working with, your handwriting can also make a difference when you\u2019re looking for good shading traits with a fountain pen ink. Lines were pretty consistent, though, without a lot of shading.<\/p>\n M\u00d2 Tangerine is a beautiful, dark orange color ink in a nice, large 50 ml. bottle that you\u2019ll find at the higher end of the mid-priced ink range. The high-performance Penlux ink is made by Sailor<\/a>, a well-regarded ink company. Safe for fountain pens, Penlux M\u00d2 Tangerine fountain pen ink has a noticeably quick dry time (only about 5 seconds), and you\u2019ll find yourself wholly intrigued by this fountain pen ink\u2019s packaging. It\u2019s simple, elegant, and yet somehow entertaining all at the same time.
