Visconti Homo Sapiens Skylight is the newest addition to Visconti\u2019s Homo Sapiens collection<\/a>. The focus of this series is to highlight and pay homage to the plight of early Homo Sapiens. From their battles against nature to the constant process of innovation and discovery, Visconti<\/a> pays tribute.<\/p>\n

Creation of Skylight<\/h1>\n

Much like our ancestors, the design and engineering teams at Visconti worked tirelessly to add new elements to Homo Sapiens Skylight that were previously not included in the collection. In the fashion of the other pens, Skylight is made from volcanic lava rock. This material renders the pen virtually unbreakable.<\/p>\n

Continuing along this line of indestructible, the trims of the pen are solid bronze. With this combination of materials, Homo Sapiens Skylight becomes a tool that even the early men would appreciate.<\/p>\n

\"Visconti<\/a>

Visconti Homo Sapiens Skylight Fountain Pen<\/p><\/div>\n

The new strides in innovation come in the form of two transparent windows to view the Visconti double reservoir power filler. This filling system entails two chambers. The first is a small chamber behind the nib of the pen. Secondly is a larger chamber located in the body of the pen. As the smaller chamber runs dry it subsequently fills from the secondary chamber, allowing the writing process to continue.<\/p>\n

Patented in 1989, the double reservoir filling system allows users to fill the pen with the equivalent of ten cartridges of ink. This ensures that users are rarely without necessary fountain pen ink<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, this revolutionary system makes taking the pen on flights a breeze. Before traveling you drain the small chamber into the larger one and tighten the valve between the two. This eliminates the possibility of ink leaking from the nib during air pressure change.<\/p>\n

Details on Homo Sapiens Skylight<\/h2>\n

The Visconti Homo Sapiens Skylight fountain pen<\/a> will be available with a large Visconti 18K gold nib. In addition, the nib will match the color of the bronze trim with a rose gold vermeil coating. Skylight comes in four different nib sizes; Extra Fine, Fine, Medium, and 1.3 Stub.<\/p>\n
