For our review of Krishna Lyrebird Waterproof Blue-Black ink, we used a French-made J Herbin<\/a> spiral glass dip pen on Rhodia dot pad paper. How Fast Does Krishna Lyrebird Waterproof Fountain Pen Ink Dry?<\/h2>\n

Krishna Lyrebird Waterproof ink had a reasonable dry time during our review \u2013 approximately 7-8 seconds. As a result, we feel the company succeeded in creating an ink suitable for everyday use. (We generally recognize any dry time under 10 seconds to be reasonable for day-to-day use for fountain pen inks).<\/p>\n

Does Krishna Lyrebird Waterproof Fountain Pen Ink Bleed Through?<\/h2>\n

During normal use, we saw no bleeding of Krishna Lyrebird Waterproof Blue-Black fountain pen ink. The Blue-Black is a very dark ink, but we found no bleeding during normal use on Rhodia dot pad paper, even during the cotton swab test.<\/p>\n

Was There Any Feathering While Using Krishna Lyrebird Waterproof Blue-Black Ink?<\/h2>\n

During normal use, we found absolutely no feathering. During the water test, we so no additional feathering at all. (As it should be since this is a waterproof ink).<\/p>\n

How Does Krishna Lyrebird Waterproof Blue-Black Ink Stand Up to Water?<\/h2>\n

We included a water test in the review of Krishna Lyrebird Waterproof Blue-Black ink. (For the water test, we let an ink sample dry for about 3 minutes before running a wet cotton swab over the sample). The water test resulted in no line distortion and no feathering. Lines remained clear and crisp. We did see some very slight color smearing where the wet swab ran over the ink sample. As a result of the water test, we would categorize this ink as water-resistant, not quite 100% waterproof.<\/p>\n

Does Krisha Lyrebird Waterproof Blue-Black Ink Have Good Shading Traits?<\/h2>\n

Krishna Lyrebird Waterproof Blue-Black ink is a deep, dark shade of blue with a lot of shading traits from deep, dark black-blue to a regular blue-black color to a light blue-gray color. We did not see any sheening traits during our review.<\/p>\n

Krishna introduced their Lyrebird line to fill a need for beauty combined with function so fountain pen enthusiasts could turn to the Lyrebird line for their everyday use. The Lyrebird Waterproof line was a great addition to the basic colors already offered. After reviewing the Krishna Lyrebird Waterproof Blue-Black ink, we think they succeeded in providing some great new options! While the ink is not quite 100% waterproof, it is definitely water-resistant. It offers a reasonable dry time and some good shading traits.
