The Leonardo Officina Italiana Sepia ink in today\u2019s review and giveaway is one of six colors released in 2019. The Sepia ink is a lovely, soft, muted light brown shade with a hint of orange. It\u2019s a lighter color, but it shows up well on paper and has some nice characteristics. Other colors available in the Leonardo Officina Italiana ink line include turquoise blue, black, blue, green and red passion.<\/p>\n

During our review of Leonardo Officina Italiana Sepia ink, we found the following characteristics that you may find helpful when picking your next ink color:<\/p>\n

Testing Factors<\/h2>\n

For our review of Leonardo Officina Italiana Sepia ink, we used a French-made J. Herbin glass dip pen on Rhodia dot pad paper. The dip pen has a writing tip that is similar to a fine-medium fountain pen nib. Please note that different pens, nibs, and paper may produce different results.<\/p>\n

Bottle Size<\/h2>\n

Leonardo Officina Italiana Sepia ink comes in a nice mid-sized 40 ml octagonal-shaped heavyweight glass bottle. The bottle and overall presentation is excellent and may be used as an ink well. Each bottle of Leonardo Officina Italiana Sepia ink comes professionally packaged with easy to identify color labeling and arriving in an origami enclosed cardboard box. The ribbed lid also has a medium-sized opening for easy filling access.<\/p>\n

Cost<\/h2>\n

Leonardo Officina Italiana Sepia ink is a mid-range priced ink retailing for $19.99 in the USA. The price is reasonable based upon the high-quality ink, packaging and because each bottle is imported by Pen Chalet directly from Italy.<\/p>\n

Dry Time<\/h2>\n

During our review of Leonardo Officina Italiana Sepia ink, we found a very quick dry time of 5 seconds, which is quicker than most inks we have reviewed. Anything under 10 seconds may be considered as an everyday ink option for the home or office.<\/p>\n

Bleed Through<\/h2>\n

We experienced no bleeding during our review of Leonardo Officina Italiana Sepia ink, even during our cotton swab test.<\/p>\n

Feathering<\/h2>\n

We found absolutely no feathering while testing Leonardo Officina Italiana Sepia fountain pen ink<\/a> during regular use. Even during our water test using Rhodia paper, we found only a very slight amount of feathering and line distortion.<\/p>\n

Water Test<\/h2>\n

We conducted a water test during our review of Leonardo Officina Italiana Sepia ink. This test resulted in some color smearing, although it was light due to the light color of the ink and some very slight feathering and line distortion. Although Leonardo Sepia ink is not waterproof ink, it held up pretty well during our review.<\/p>\n

Shading<\/h2>\n

Leonardo Officina Italiana Sepia ink has some subtle shading traits. Depending on your penmanship, nib and ink flow you may be able to produce a beautiful dark brown with a slight orange tint to various lighter shades of light brown\/sepia.<\/p>\n

Conclusions about Leonardo Officina Italiana Sepia ink<\/h2>\n

Leonardo Officina Italiana Sepia ink is an excellent and unexpected color edition. Sepia ink is an unusual ink color when the brand produces only a small selection of colors. However, Leonardo Officina Italiana Sepia ink is a lovely, light, soft brown\/sepia color that shows up remarkably well on paper. It has a swift dry time, will shade nicely and holds up reasonably well to water. Leonardo Sepia ink is mid-range priced ink but comes in unique and interesting packaging.
