Colorverse Ink Company<\/a> in collaboration with Pen Chalet has just released its first limited edition ink set, Monsoon Storm with Monument Valley.\u00a0 Individually numbered from 1 to 300,\u00a0Colorverse Pen Chalet Monsoon Storm ink is a beautiful dark teal, even a teal-black color that has lots of color variation. Other similar dark teal inks are Lamy Petrol Blue ink, which was extremely popular and completely sold out and Robert Oster Velvet Storm<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The idea was discussed conceptually between Pen Chalet and Youngki Baek, the CEO of Colorverse at Paper World in Frankfurt Germany in January 2019. After months of discussion, we decided upon an Arizona theme for the Colorverse collaboration ink. Arizona is a very unique and diverse place in the Southwest region of the United States. It has a very varied climate and geography from the low land Sonoran desert to tundra above the tree line at 12,000 feet on the summit of San Francisco Peaks near Flagstaff, Arizona.<\/p>\n

The two ink colors Colorverse and Pen Chalet have created for this limited edition set are Monsoon Storm and Monument Valley. Monsoon Storm reflects the incredible power and beauty of a typical monsoon storm during the late summer in Arizona. On the other hand, Monument Valley reflects the natural wonder located in the Northeastern\u00a0high desert region of Arizona.<\/p>\n

During our review of Colorverse Pen Chalet Monsoon Storm ink we found the following characteristics that you may find helpful when selecting your next ink color:<\/p>\n

Testing Factors<\/h2>\n

For our review of Colorverse Pen Chalet Monsoon Storm ink, we used a J. Herbin glass dip pen on Rhodia dot pad paper. The dip pen has a tip similar to a medium-fine fountain pen nib.<\/p>\n

Bottle Sizes<\/h2>\n

Colorverse Pen Chalet Monsoon Storm ink comes in Colorverse\u2019s larger 65 ml. teardrop shape glass bottle. The complementary Monument Valley color comes in the smaller 15 ml. glass bottle. Each bottle has the unique nub protruding at the bottom. The package contains Colorverse and Pen Chalet swag and stickers. Additionally, an individually numbered placard from 1 to 300 comes with each limited edition set. Once the 300 units are sold this ink will be retired forever.<\/p>\n

Cost<\/h2>\n

Colorverse Pen Chalet Monsoon Storm ink retails in the USA for $36.00. At this price point, Colorverse Pen Chalet Monsoon Storm ink is a higher ranged priced ink. Although it does come with two bottles of ink. A large capacity 65 ml. bottle in addition to a smaller 15 ml. glass bottle of complementary ink. Throw in the fact that the ink is a limited edition numbered ink imported directly from Korea, makes the price more reasonable.<\/p>\n

Dry Time<\/h2>\n

We found a dry time of approximately 6-7 seconds during our review of Monsoon Storm ink. This is a very reasonable dry time and usable as an everyday ink color. Please note that different writing styles, nibs, and paper may produce different results.<\/p>\n

Bleed Through<\/h2>\n

During our entire review of Colorverse Pen Chalet Monsoon Storm ink, we found no bleeding at all.<\/p>\n

Feathering<\/h2>\n

When using Monsoon Storm ink, we found no feathering with normal writing. Even during our water test, we only found a slight amount of additional feathering. This is to be expected for non-waterproof ink.<\/p>\n

Water Test<\/h2>\n

We conducted a water test during our review of Monsoon Storm ink where we ran a wet cotton swab over a dried ink sample. The test resulted in significant color smearing, typical for dark non-waterproof ink. The lines, however, remained clear and very legible.<\/p>\n

Shading<\/h2>\n

Colorverse Pen Chalet Monsoon Storm ink will shade quite beautifully with the right nib and penmanship. Being a very dark ink, the user will have to find the dryer points of the nib to allow for the color variation. This is not a high sheening ink, although the wet points may produce some red sheen.<\/p>\n

Conclusions about Colorverse Pen Chalet Monsoon Storm ink<\/h2>\n

Colorverse Pen Chalet Monsoon Storm ink is a dark teal ink with medium saturation. It has nice shading characteristics with an almost black color to a lighter monsoon sky teal. It comes with a complimentary bottle of\u00a0orange rust colored ink, Monument Valley. The dry time is very reasonable, making it viable as an everyday ink color. The packaging is top notch as with all Colorverse products and series of inks. Although on the mid to high price, it is reasonable considering you get two bottles of high-quality limited edition imported ink. Buy a Color Happy writing from Korea and Arizona!<\/p>\n
